The medina of Essaouira is something out of a fairytale and not to be missed if you are spending some days in Morocco. Definite highlight of our trip
This medina by the sea is full of typical shops selling silver, ceramics, baskets, leathers, spices and so on and also has riads, restaurants and coffee shops and dessert places. There is also a street where you can tell the locals shop as it has...More
The Medina of Essaouira is similar to the one in Marrakeck, the main difference being that tourists are not "harassed" by shop owners. You can walk from store to store without feeling that if you enter a store you need to by something from there....More
Soak up the culture in a relatively safe and comfortable medina. You are not pressurised by sellers. The selection of hidden gems of restaurants is amazing .. you won.t find them unless you k ow where to look. We recommend: Umia - modern trendy foodie...More

A great place to spend a couple of days, the medina was a great place to wander around, to find interesting places to eat and to shop and people watch.

Fun little seaside town Medina. Lots and lots of little shops to buy souvenirs. Many wood crafts, carpets, art pieces, leather and traditional dress wears. Handicrafts. Learn to haggle! Some fixed price signs but mostly you can still bargain.
