This is a great walking town and a very long easy walking beach. the boardwalk area is full of great restaurants and the beach was not overly crowded when we were there. The port area with the fishing boats is a great area to visit and if you love photography this is your place for colorful photos.

A beautiful clean beach. Usually very quiet. You can take a lovely long walk along the beach to Diabet and see the ruins and pop in for a coffee at Jimi Hendrix house. A very relaxing and gorgeous walk along the beach here with plenty of resteraunts and coffee shops for you to take a rest if you need to.

Lovely beach and a fantastic walk on a sunny day. As ever hassled by Camel, horse and quad bike ride purveyors. We met one such slimy crook Ali wears a red jacket who tried to charge us £20 for sitting on his camel for a photo suggesting he would normally charge £150 for a 1 hour ride. He became aggressive... Beautiful sandy beach, not too busy in November and still nice and warm for a day or afternoon stroll. Lots of activities such as football, kite surfing, kayaking can be done. You can even hire a bicycle and ride alongside it. Nice cafes around beach to stop and have a cup of tea. Can get quite windy if weather predicts... More

In the winter you can walk on the wide sandy beach for a couple of klm and after a short while there is almost no none to be seen. the camel ride men quickly take no thanks for an answer and leave you in peace. It is almost always windy so there are usually a few kite surfers in the water.Walking... As good a beach as you would get anywhere but not too many facilitues for famillies with children. Unless they are all surfers ! Very few normal shops to buy nessecities like icecream ,suncream, papers.

The beach seemed to stretch for miles and was pretty quiet but it is very windy in Essaouira. We chose to explore and enjoy the beach by camel with a great guy called Mustafa who owns and runs Lima Dromadaire. We went on his 2 hour sunset trip and had a fantastic time. An amazing added bonus is that Mustafa... More

Walking from the medina, the beach offers stunning ocean views made more picturesque by the golden island housing the prison and the distant curling shoreline. Renovation of the road and wide walkway in front of the posh hotels and extending the length of the mile-long beach appeared to be nearing completion in November: great news for joggers, cyclists, and walkers...
