We went out with Tommy on a really cold morning and didn’t know how much we’d get to see. We saw so much and the weather made no difference at all overall. We’d really recommend this to anyone in the area - with or without...More
Jurgen our guide was a real conservationist and passionate about preserving this beautiful patch of the Namib desert. The manner in which he was able to produce amazing creature out of the seemingly sterile desert sand was a wonder to behold.

Chantelle is a born entertainer & her love of the desert & it’s creatures is contagious. She picked us up at 8, dropped us off at 2 and kept the whole group (2 Americans, 4 Swiss, 2 Austrians) engaged & laughing the whole time -...More
Eben and Chantelle took us out on a wonderfull tour through the desert. Aside from finding numerous animals, what I'll remember the most is the sheer enthousiasm of both guides. I take home the respect they have for all things on this planet and continue...More
We were on the tour of Tommy's Little 5, meaning the sometimes hard to see and overlooked animals of the dunes near Swakopmund. Tommy delights in his job and has boundless energy navigating the dunes with his other "scouts" as they hunt for chameleons, sidewinders...More

The tours are about 4 hours, and while you are 4-wheeling in the desert, it wasn't that bumpy or anything. I was a little skeptical, thinking sand dunes would be boring, but Tommy and his crew really bring "the living desert" to life, and you can really begin to understand how the desert is "living." We absolutely loved it. He is passionate about the dunes and his enthusiasm made the trip very enjoyable. You stop on the beach afterwards for snacks and a drink so he can put air back in the tires that he has to remove while in the dunes, Would highly recommend.
I know Tommy does collect his guests from any hotel / guest house in Swakopmund. However the only cruise ship port might be in Walvisbay. I'm not sure if he collects from Walvisbay. If however you fill the vehicle as a group... More
I know Tommy does collect his guests from any hotel / guest house in Swakopmund. However the only cruise ship port might be in Walvisbay. I'm not sure if he collects from Walvisbay. If however you fill the vehicle as a group I'm sure he will collect and drop off again. I suggest sending Kit (his wife and manager) a mail - firstname.lastname@example.org
Hope this help...
