This is a fun place to go for lunch, especially after a few days or longer in the desert interior of Namibia since you will likely have forgotten there is water on the surface of the earth. There are fishing boats, catamaran trips and any...More

Beautiful birds on the lake leaving when the water is to deep, but came back on low tide. Driving with a 4x4 to Pelican point is absolute amazing.

Tens of thousands seals hanging out by the beach. They swam over and play with us around our kayaks. Along the beach, there also lots of flamingos and several jackals. Very fun for the kids and parents.

Walvis Bay is an industrial town. The seascape was fascinating, with several offshore oil rigs and tenders parked in the ocean. The salt works and mudflats are of some interest, but not as much as the massed flamingoes along the beach.

When you drive a bit out of the city, you have the chance to see lots of flamingos at the wet lands. Great to spot those beautiful birds.

Nice view of the ocean and a chance to see flamingos. Couple of curious shops and restaurants. Definitely worth visiting when in Walvis Bay.

The title says it all! The subtle changes in the light, offset by the plumage of the pink flamingos, is a photographer's dream. A lovely tranquil hour before heading off for a well earned drink!

The view of the flamingos was great. The local police warned us to keep our belongings with us for safety.

It was a cold day, but there were not much to see or do. Some restaurants were closed. One or two curio shops had interesting items, but nothing new. Perhaps I was expecting too much, seeing as it is the number 1 thing to do...More
