The ruins of the city are well preserved and a footpath winds around it. Not difficult to walk even for old people. The view of the sea from the footpath is very nice. Recommended to wear sun protection as it is an outdoor site and you will spend an hour at least. The museum near the entrance has relatively clean... More

This was recommended to us so we thought it worth a visit. A lot of these sites are still being excavated, usually led by Italian archaeologists and there was one on site, supervising a team of people excavating part of the site. Having been discovered as a pile of stones, the walls have been partially rebuilt to show the original... More

One learns so much about how important this Place was in earlier times, First we walked around the old town and we could observe easily why the location was excellent for the trade to so many Places around the world (and also watch a lot of flamingoes). Then we went to the Gallery which has a big Collection of items... More

old town , museum and landscapes, a good new for us. Enough close to Salalah (20') and a must to see. May the best attraction (from an archeological point of view) in Dhofar.

The museum is small and informative. The site is really beautiful. It has a good walk to cover the site but the view from the top is amazing. You can witness the sea from this place which is really good

Back to 3000 BC when Frankincense storm around Arabia Peninsula, the port became one of charming place in south-west Arabia and center of trading. It was contested by several kingdom until the people abandoned the port since silting at river mouth. There is two inscription at the wall of city on old Assyrian or Arabic language. Quite interesting place, moreover... More

You arrive in your car, get out buy a RO 2.00 ticket and proceed in, the wadi darbat from above runs alongside the area so its nice to see if you have visited up the mountain. The main attraction is the old city which is excavated / restored, it is deceptively big and there always seems to be another nook... More
