Different but nice.

Taboga Island Beaches are the nicest beaches on the Pacific side that I have seen so far. The Island is easy to walk and you have a few choices of restaurants and beaches. My... read more

We took the ferry from Balboa Yacht Club - quite an informal set-up at the pier but fairly well organised, and the 30-minute boat ride was exhilarating (we took the fast ferry - there's also a slower one). (Note, the security police on the pier ask for passports or ID - we didn't have any and got through ok though).... More

Taboga Island Beaches are the nicest beaches on the Pacific side that I have seen so far. The Island is easy to walk and you have a few choices of restaurants and beaches. My suggestion is to make a right as soon as you get off the boat and heat towards the beaches. You can pick up beer for a... More

Well, you can go there. Then you can sit and eat. Then you go back. I really missed a bit on the action there. I have visited San Blas and Bocas del Toro as well. This island has a lot of potential. The guys holding their hands up for 15 US$ for a beach where they don't clean up the... More

We took an Uber to the Balboa Yacht Club and purchased tickets for the ferry ride over to Taboga Island. Suggest purchasing ahead of time if you can to avoid the lines and possiblity of not getting on the ferry at the time you'd prefer. Ferry ride was very clean and beautiful sights along the way. Once you arrive. you... More

Taboga is the closest swimming beach to panama city. That being said, it gets a lot of weekend traffic from the locals. As you will find out, locals love to throw their trash everywhere. So yes the beach has styrofoam, plastic, broken glass, car tires, buried in the sand along with aluminium beer cans rolling up and down the beach.... More

Fairly nice sand beaches with great view of Panama City off in the distance. Beaches could be a little cleaner with better public facilities. Restrooms/changing rooms cost $2. Food near the beach is lacking.

Soboba island is a great getaway if you're staying in Panama City it is the nicest and closest beach to Panama City. A quick Ferry trip for $20 round trip will get you there. Definitely expect to spend the whole day. There's a few restaurants that you at and the snow cone maker. You can rent lawn chairs for $5... More

This was a day trip from Panama City. We went over on a fast ferry for a 6 hr. stay. First, when you get there you'll notice it's a old Fishing Village in need of a face lift. The town is old and mostly in need of repairs. This is a tourist spot that needs a lot of work. The... More

I arrived at hotel at 7am and checked in knowing that I wouldn't get a hotel room and to my surprise they put me in a room right then! It didn't have the ocean view we wanted but they said that room wasn't available yet but to use this one in the interim. It was a true welcome gift since... More

I went for a day to get away from Panama City. I was interested in going to a beach for a day and this was the closest in proximity, about 1,5 hours including the ferry ride. A little island, some parts are quaint, but the beach was noisy, crowded, dirty, and lots of rocks, not for swimming. Unfortunately nobody told... More
