The site is nice enough, not worth travelling miles for but if you find yourself around Encarnacion, definately don't miss this place! At the beginning there is a possibility to watch a short video about the Jesuits, but it would have been nice if there was some more information on the site itself. The old cathedral is impressive!

We took a local bus from Encarnacion bus station to Trinidad (10,000 Gs). Look for the bus that goes to Bella Vista and ask to be dropped off near the ruins. They drop you off at the main road from which it is a straight 7 min walk to the ruins. Entrance costs 25,000 Gs per person and includes entrance... More

Beautiful place close to the Argentinian border. It is a good attactión to see the cultural heritage of the Jesuits Congregation. You could visit it in the day or at night because it has a good presentation with lights and Baroque music which starts at 8p.m.

Make sure you go at night for the light show!!! There are several former Jesuit missions or reductions in this part of Paraguay, but these ones in Trinidad are the most well known and interesting, although not the best preserved. The monumental collapsed church is incredible, and when standing would have been up to scratch with any major European cathedral.... More

I visited in 2015 and La Santisima Trinidad de Parana was my favorite place in Paraguay. The ruins are extremely well kept despite visitors having freedom to explore. In my opinion, the guard tower was the coolest part, but the main church was great too. The staff were very professional and displayed pride in working at such a unique site.... More

Well worth stopping for this and learning a bit of what happened here: a great social experiment. Well restored ruins and some good info in the museum. A beautiful place.

“Surprising!” We hated Ciudad del Leste, so we were really surprised when we got to Encarnation. The city is nicer, cleaner, safer and way better. We visited the three Missions nearby and loved it. We ended up staying for the night show in Trinidad, but the local guide was a very arrogant person who spoiled the evening. Definitely not as... More

This is the most complete of the Jesuit ruins and with a good guide will give you real insight into the lives and culture of that period in Paraguay's history. We saw pictures of it at night when it is lit up and wish we had been able to schedule for that.

We started with the movie... not as much information as I had hoped. (English version is difficult to understand.) Then we walked with a knowledgeable and kind guide. It must have been bustling and beautiful in its glory... now quiet, evocative.
