Thanks to our school requirement, I recently had the pleasure of visiting a museum. and I must say the experience was truly fascinating and enlightening. From the moment I entered, I was transported to a world of history, art and culture. The museum was like no other, It was well lit, clean, and modern. and as much as I hate to admit it, but I really am not a fan of museums, however, This museum was just inviting me to indulge in the history, and learn. I left the museum in awe and inspiration! I wholeheartedly recommend visiting this musem

Love how the school has this museum to showcase a part of our history. I personally loved the stone relics and the meaning behind it. The people there were kind enough to assist us through and we really enjoyed the ambience inside!

Every local knows about this gem of a museum and tourists should too! Located in the heart of the University of San Carlos, this small but fascinating museum offers a look into the culture history of Cebu. The offerings range from ancient burial practices to a gallery full of gorgeous religious art. One particular piece is the statue of a European saint with his nose chopped off; the museum explains that this was a common rebellious act by Filipinos who wanted to see such statues with noses like the natives rather than the pointed ones of the Spanish. As you visit the museum you'll be treated to an inside look of the largest university in Cebu. In order to enter, you must provide ID to the security guard in the lobby. The cost was 30 pesos. Call ahead to confirm hours - They close at lunch.

Well worth the visit to this small, but higher quality museum. The museum features anthropological and archaeological exhibits. Also includes ancient boat coffins dug up in Anda, Bohol in the 1970s, and some fascinating limestone burial jars dating from about the 6th century. A third gallery is available for changing exhibits. A major bonus in this museum are the books for sale at the front desk - titles that are very Cebu-specific and cover other aspects of the Visayas. There is also an opportunity to get a glimpse inside a fine local university. The museum is tucked inside the school, so make your way to the "front entrance" of the school, provide ID at the guard station, and you will be directed to where the museum area is located.

The first time I entered the school, I immediately noticed this museum, granted it was almost impossible to miss, and I was amazed to see one. But I just thought that it was exclusive for invited people and that getting in outside the museum. It was interesting seeing more inside and it never failed my expectations. Everything was neatly organized; the displays were placed to specific sections, and of course, everything came with the information about the item that would help the visitors learn more about it. It was a really great experience, exploring and discovering the different fragments and artifacts from history all in one place. I would really like to visit the museum again and recommend this to my friends soon.

Since the museum is funded by the University of San Carlos, the museum does not require a fee for visitors, students and tourists alike. That is one of the few good things about the museum. Another good thing to note is how informative each description block beside an artifact is.
During my visit, I was given a map. And the map was supposedly a guide for the visitor. There were different exhibits presented on the map, and I wasn't really able to use the map since I just went in to see all the artifacts and items in the museum. One thing was that I had a hard time locating the exhibits as they weren't really indicated by a sign. However I did find them later on based off the display of items.
I found the artifacts to be in good condition, and how information was presented was also satisfactory. The exhibits were also quite interesting, especially the animal exhibits because of how the animals or species were preserved or presented. I also found that the museum was quite lacking, but considering that it was funded by the school (maybe through donations and such), it is good overall. A tour wasn't required since the museum is quite small, and we weren't accommodated instantly when we arrived. The museum was clean and organized at least and that is what makes my visit satisfactory.

The museum has a very interesting collection that will make you more curious about our heritage. The place is nice and the collection their will make you proud of being a Filipino and help feeds your curiosity. I suggest people to go to this place!

Second time visiting USC museum and it still catches my interest. It was very interesting to visit the different galleries within the museum. Personally, my favorite was the Biodiversity gallery as well as the Archaeological gallery and I was just amazed at how well-preserved the artifacts were 😊

Over the years as I've traveled, I realised there are people who're either into museums for the actual content and get info out of it - and there are the 'window shopper' types who might become marginally smarter, and might learn a factoid or two, but aren't fully into it. And I've also realised I fall into the latter.
Even then, this Museum is a nice place to visit. You don't need to go too out of your way, it's free, and there's lots of nice exhibits from Philippine history here. Especially lovely are the animals / butterfly exhibits.
There were some nice touches like an old camera on display - saying that this was the cam used to take original photos of the housing university.
