About
*Please visit the temple website for open hours and appointments.* Temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are considered houses of God, a place of holiness and peace separate from the preoccupations of the world. They provide a place where Church members make formal promises and commitments to God. They are also the place where the highest sacraments of the faith occur — the marriage of couples and the "sealing" of families for eternity. Temples serve as the only place where ceremonies such as baptism and eternal marriage can be performed on behalf of those who have died. Temples point Latter-day Saints to Jesus Christ and their eventual life with Him.

The Cebu City Philippines Temple is worthy of note because it sits in stark contrast to the over-adorned and garishly decorated Catholic churches and cathedrals that are scattered throughout Cebu Province.
This temple was built inn 2007, the second Mormon temple built in the Philippines, following the Manila Philippines Temple which was built in 1988.
It sits solemnly on a slight hill rise - an uncompromisingly plain structure of grey granite that was imported from China.
The only adornment is a gold-leafed statue of the angel Moroni on top of the temple.
I discovered an interesting fact. During an earthquake in 2013 the tremour caused the statue to move from facing east to facing south. It was returned to its eastwards position in 2014.

This church or temple was close to our hotel so we decided to walk to it and try to get in to see what was inside. The doors were open and it seemed none was inside so we didn't get the chance to visit the inside but we took some selfies outside.

A place of worship, a Mormon temple. This is one example if a beautiful architecture usually the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints build. There are many temples scattered around the country, and all of them are in elegant and in simple fine lines.
