We arrived in the Mountain Veiw park about 3.00 p.m. courtesy of a family which we have gotten to know in Pusok, Lapu Lapu city. The entry fee is 50 pesos per person, and all other facilities are extra.
We settled in to our chalets ( small accommodation units ) They cost 1,200 peso per unit and consist of a double bed in one room, and a shower, Toilet, water outlet in the small toilet / shower room.
The chalets are clean and tidy, and have two sheets provided as well as the two pillows. But for being the mountains where the night air is cold, i really think that some blankets are also a requirement.
There is one power point so make sure that you bring a multi box, so that you can cook the rice and charge your laptop and cellphone. There is no TV which I think would be nice, as I like to keep up to date with the news.
BUT WHAT EVER YOU DO, DON'T STAY HERE OVER NIGHT !!!!
The management of the place have no control over the noise of the other guests, and the locals don't care about who they disturb. There was Kareoke unitl 4.00 AM !!!!
I COULD NOT BELIVE IT.
The drunken singing was abominable, yes i could understand that they were able to sing until 11.30 - 12.00 but 4.00 a.m. was just too much ! So come up, have a look and then go home, do not stay over night.
Sad to say that the other travellers, that I spoke to were of the same opinion, and would not come to stay again, however the views and journey up and down the mountain were a delight, took lots of photos and the kids enjoyed them selves. There is much to do for the children, swimming pools, games to play, and things to climb up and down on.

Mountain View nature park and swimming pool is an excellent way to escape the heat of Cebu city. less than 30 minutes drive from cebu up a winding mountain road brings you to mountain view nature park, with walking trails. There is also a small water park with swimming pool... And the water is cool !!
an excellent way to spend a day

We would have gladly paid the entrance fee of 250 for our family of six were it not for a very bad experience we had inside the premise. The place was too crowded once we got in so we kept driving till we found an overlooking viewdeck. We didn’t know that those function halls are separately charged and when we got there we were rudely dismissed by their personnel. Since our simple desire to enjoy was ruined, we just decided to leave and get a refund. From diplomacy to heated discussion, their personnel ( including their manager) couldn’t properly resolve the issue and we just left with no refund because according to them , we stayed beyond 15 mins already. We are not after our refund BUT we’re talking about principles here of customer satisfaction. They had us waiting more than 15 mins too and none was able to pull off conflict resolution. Not even an apology was sent our way.

This is our nth time to celebrate new year in this place. We prefer this place during new year to get away from the noisy and polluted city down below. The view from the top of the mountain is superb...you can see the fireworks explosion down below in different colors, sizes and magnitude.
At the start of the new year, this place is jump packed by people who opted to celebrate new year on this part of the earth. Families - foreigners and local are seen everywhere. Please note also that on the 1st day of the year - Jan 1st, the entrance to this park is free (anniversary of the park).
The park has lots to offer e.g. rope courses, cottages/hotel rooms, restaurant, karaoke, function rooms, open cottages (free). We stayed in one of the executive room - good for 2 persons at 1500 pesos per night (air-conditioned room). Non air-conditioned room costs from 600 to 1500 Php. Wifi connection is also available for a fee.
How to get there? There's a shuttle van that will ferry you from JY Square at 40 PHP per person one way- at full capacity (with prior arrangement with Mountain View Nature's Park). Another option is to hire a taxi (quite expensive- 500 php). The more economical is to hire a habal-habal (motor) in JY Square at 100 php per motor good for 2 persons - one way.

It is a bit bigger than I imagined it. There are great views of Mactan Island and beyond. It was nice to watch the jets taking off and gliding in for landings from a distance. There are many statues which offer photo opportunities for everyone in the group. My favorite was the ropes course. You should be in relatively good shape and have some closed shoes or you will have to rent them for 50 pesos and an additional 50 pesos for socks. The actual ropes course is only 150 pesos and well worth it. Entrance to the park is 50 per person.. You don't need to bring the taxi driver in. Just get out and pay and then walk up the road. Swimming is 100 pesos per adult. There are lots of food choices at the little restaurant above the pool where you pay for entrance. Very large coconuts were only 25 pesos. If you do the ropes course and walk around you can easily kill 3-4 hours. If you add swimming, put that up to 5-6 hours. I would not recommend staying overnight unless you need to see the lights or want to do something there early in the morning. There are ants everywhere, so be careful. Getting there and coming back to the city can be expensive if you take a taxi. But if you want convenience, have a taxi take you for 300 and then pay at the pool restaurant for a trip back to town for 400 pesos. If you have a taxi wait for you, most will want 1000 or more pesos to wait 3 hours or more. Someone in good health could walk back to Cebu City as it is only 5-6 miles on the road.

Went on our 1st anniversary, yay. The restaurant has an incredible view, the food was good if your order from the Filipino dishes. American menu steak was chewy like bubble gum. Amazing dessert, a trio of chocolate mousse, tiramasu and mango pana coti, truly European quality for 50 pisos. The room rental was a biological adventure with scary (to a white guy) gecko mating calls and interior ant population dynamics. I would have traded those wildlife adventures for a tv. Any extras are extra charges. If traveling by taxi the best deal was metered fare plus 100 pisos extra for the uphill climb, fair enough, the road is unbelievably steep in places. Forget about getting a return cab, they don't go there or want to go there. There is a resort van to take you back down the mountain for 400 pisos but it leaves you at the bottom to fend for yourself to get a cab.
My suggestion for couples is forget the pool and rooms for rent. Take a cab 300 pisos each way. The cab driver offered to wait unfortunately we declined. Have a meal at the restaurant, reasonably priced and the open air concept offers a spectacular view. With this in mind its a very worthwhile trip, oh and try to ignore the bizzare mix of disney/religious concrete figurines, the Santa Claus is bizzare (zoom in on my pic), happy trips.

Riding up to the Park in a taxi was a real experience. Taxi drivers in Cebu give you on heck of ride ordinarily, but doing it going up a mountain is even more interesting. Once at the top, though, the views are worth it. The only problem we encountered is that we went too early in the day. None of the places to get a cool drink open until noon.

Is there a way to hike from JY mall to parks entrance? How many minutes will that take?
Written 10 August 2017
Hiking from JY Square to Mountain View Park is quite a challenge especially if you're on heavy side. You should be fit enough to do the hike. And time it on the early morning or very late in the afternoon to avoid the hot sun.
