- spotlightsandyNew York City, New York20 contributionsTerrific Views while Sipping Fantastic WinesThank you so much for taking care of the large Wells Group this past Sat afternoon. We had a fantastic time. Kudos to the chef, the sandwiches were amazing. The Focaccia especially! Thanks for giving us a great memory as we said good-bye to our dear old Wells College. You can't go wrong coming here to sip wine while sitting and basking in the views of the grapes and Cayuga Lake. Don't miss out if you are in the area!Visited June 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 4 June 2024

Owner and staff obviously take great pride and care in their craft. If you’re lucky you’ll spot their super cute golden retriever, and even luckier if you get Russ pouring your tastings - favorite of the whole day ❤️Visited September 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 7 September 2024
- sket101971 contributionsWonderful tastingWe stopped by on a quiet rainy afternoon and did a tasting with Kristen. It was a wonderful experience. She is very knowledgeable about the wines and could discuss with us the various flavors of the wine. She told us about the grapes and the winery. She was very engaging and helpful about sights to see in the area. The wines we tasted were very good. We highly recommend a stop at Long Point if you are in the area.Visited October 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 6 October 2024

Wonderful surprise. The red wines are the best on Cayuga that we have tasted and we happily bought several. Fortunately, we live close by and will be returning on a regular basis. The sandwiches were great, it will become a lunch spot for us. So far the best wineries (and food) we have experience on Cayuga are Treleaven and Long Point. Thankfully both are close by!!

We visited this winery as part of our boat tour. They came to the dock and picked us up and then returned us back after our visit. Our host was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot about their wine. He took the time to understand our tastes and suggested wines that we might like based on what we shared with him. We enjoyed our visit here and would return again.

With a group of friends, we had an early afternoon winetasting. All of the wines were quite good and the information provided with the tasting was helpful (tasting only cost $10, 4 samples - generous samples).. Glad to have arrived early - it got quite busy as we moved outside to enjoy a bit more wine and the beautiful views! Picnic tables under a tent were a welcome option for hanging out and visiting with others. A beautiful afternoon!

Visited here as 1 of 16 wineries on our annual road trip to the Finger Lakes. Pros: very friendly young male server; tasting was outside with a beautiful view of Cayuga Lake. Cons: very tiny plastic wine tasting cups; no water was given. Server advised that they are known for their dry reds. I tried the merlot, zin, syrah, rubitage, and cab. They seem to need a little more development to become full bodied. The only wine I enjoyed was the Cabernet Sauvignon 2017.

Long Point is on the east side of Cayuga, so it's a little off the "regular" path. But based on our prior visits here, this was our first stop for their excellent selection of Reds. And it didn't let us down. Russ was very knowledgeable and fantastic in leading us through all the reds based on our preferences, and boy, were they ALL great. It was difficult to narrow down, so we really did load up on their reds. All were fantastic, across a fair range of prices. This will always be on our list of stops when we visit the Finger Lakes.

First of all the sandwiches were to die for! If I lived near here I would take lunch from here all week long. The woman makes the bread herself. So fresh! The wine was good , but nothing spectacular. This year most of the places were at were that way. We do some of the same wineries once a year and this year we were not wowed. Staff was extremely nice.

We started our four-day Finger Lakes winery tour here on a beautiful spring day. The wine and food was very good. The view and setting is fantastic. It was great to be able to get delicious (including gluten free) sandwiches there and sit outside at a picnic table enjoying the view, food and wine!

The worst of the three wineries we visited for me. Both for the experience and quality of wine. Did not like many of the wines and it was busy and the employees barely told you the name of the wine, let alone anything about it.

The owners of Long Point, Gary and Rosie, along with their staff leave no stone unturned to make sure you have a wonderful experience at their winery. The tastings are exceptional -- especially the merlot and zinfandel. Take the time to have a picnic on their lawn, drinking the views of the lake and the surrounding farms, along with your wine.

I was heading to Aurora to see my daughter play volleyball at Wells College. What a beautiful area. Long Point came up on my search for things to do and it did not disappoint. I did the tasting of 5 for $5 which is very reasonable. I like reds (Zin’s and Petite Syrah’s especially). My favorite was the Cab Franc that they grow the grapes there for. The majority of the other reds are sourced from CA and made there. It is a nice location overlooking the Cayuga Lake. Another benefit is that this is right next door to Aurora Brewing Co., so you can do two tastings real close to each other.

Do you have any type of gift certificates for couples to have a picnic of a bottle of wine and a cheese platter? Or can you suggest something to give as a gift to a couple? Thank you
Written 4 August 2018
To my knowledge Long Point does not offer any Gift Certificates for purchase nor sell any food. You could purchase your own wine selection and create your own arrangement. They do take online wine orders.
