Victory Square has on one side Timisoara Orthodox Cathedral and on the opposite side the Opera House, the Romanian, Hungarian and German Theatres. In between are many pubs and terraces, from Gelateria Bruno to Timisoreana Restaurants. A good place to drink a beer or a coffee or to eat an icecream during summer time. In the evenings are a lot... Piata Victoriei Square, formerly known as Operei, is one of the central squares of the city of Timisoara. This is where Timisoara was proclaimed the first free city of Communism. From Opera to Cathedral, the promenade on the right is called "Corso" and the left "Surrogate". Both ensembles of historical significance.

The square if clean and well kept with a few buildings in need of some work but generally in great condition.

This square is imposing and changes enormously from nighttime to daytime, definitely Timisoara's landmark

We went in the square to view the spectacle organized for New Year and it was extraordinary. The fireworks was very nice and we enjoyed every minute spent there. There were little houses there selling traditional products.

Even though it was cold, we enjoyed the city walk and this place was the top one. The square itself is beautiful with the mini-park and monuments on it. In addition there was an interesting Winter (Xmass) market, which had joined stands with the traditional food. I did not have such good food for ages during tourism.

Here along both sides you can find shops and restaurants to sit and eat or you can choose a bench which are situated around and have a lovely pic Nic. Here you have a lot to see and do explore the buildings just take a second to look at them and how old they are, the church is along here... More

Well, it's something you shouldn't miss, particularly at Christmas when the market of little booths selling foods and other items to get ready. Modern commercial buildings, which don't match the historic Unirii Sq further north.
