Nice Square

This is a good place to walk around. There's also a mini New Year/X'mas market and vendors selling handicrafts and art pieces, etc. It's nicely decorated

Pushkin Square (Пу́шкинская пло́щадь) was named after the Russian poet, playwright, and novelist of the Romantic era Alexander Pushkin. He is considered to be the greatest Russian poet and the founder of modern Russian literature. This large square is just about 2 kilometers northwest of the Kremlin. It's one of the busiest squares in the city. At the center of... More

Pushkinskaya is a great area of Tverskaya. The metro stops Pushkinskaya, Chekhovskaya, and Tverskaya all meet here and there are lots of kiosks under the street. They used to have a beer garden during some of the warmer times of year, although I don't know if that happens anymore. During the day, it's a cozy city park kind of area... More

Located a bit behind the monument of the famous poet (looking from Tverskoy boulevard) this is very lovely and rather busy square. Nice fountains and flower gardens in the middle. Good for taking a break from all the hustle of the city.

In the last week of September 2015, we saw colorful kiosks that looked like gingerbread houses in Pushkin Square, Moscow. Our guide irina explained that a food Festival was taking place. A cart with supersize white pumpkins was near Alexander Pushkin’s statue. A baby grand piano with red roses and ivy plants, an orange car filled with yellow and orange... More

Gingerbread houses excite the imagination of young and old. We saw open-fronted huts at the food festivals in Pushkin Square Moscow that looked like gingerbread houses from fairy tales through the group expresstorussia.com in cooperation with intourist.com. They sold food and novelties. We were lucky that is was warm in late September 2015. We enjoyed exploring the Food Festival in... More

I likè the designs and the lights, also its safe to walk around at any time because you will see the police around all the time. Lot of restaurants to eat there.

I constantly walk around this place and to my mind it is worth visiting during festivals. For example, this year in April there first was Easter festival with lots of nice small kiosks and then took place fish week with its vendors and cafes. At regular time this is just a mere square to walk by.

Just spent around 30 minutes exploring the square...both sides of Tverskaya...reached by underpass. Both sides bedecked in Christmas lights at present. Beautiful, a real picturesque scene. The square worth a quick visit if only to admire the dominating statue of Pushkin.

Pros: Nice monument. Benches. Good for people watching. Cons: Only can be reached from underground pass. Can't spend more than 5 minutes there. Summary: Doesn't take much effort to check out the square if you are already walking by it.
