The cathedral, originally bult in the 19th century in commemoration of the Russian army's victory over Napoleon, was destroyed on Stalin's personal order. The cathedral was rebuilt in the 1990s.

The Cathedral was simply beautiful inside and out. It was a little busy and crowded when visited but well worth the time. I would recommend taking the time to tour the cathedral to anyone.

Magnificient cathedral built by Alexander I after Napoleon´s troops left Russia in 1812. The cellebration! Impressive Iconostases, and a great inspiration on russians traditional architecture.
