It was presumed as apart of a large zoological complex - Moscow Zoo was planned to move here. But Soviet Academy of Science has a sanatorium and spa nearby. And academics protested together with the locals. The plan was scrapped, the sanatorium still exists, only now belonging to the Russian Academy. But the paleontology museum was built - dinosaurs' skeletons... More

Nice place to visit with young children. Just about 1 hour tour and children are fascinated bated and not tired. Quite close to metro - about 10 min walk. Discounts for students. Exhibition starts from ancient sea inhabitants to the time when human appeared. If you go by car - take turn from Profsoyuznaya st directly to the parking place,... More

The collection in this museum is fantastic. Unfortunately, typical of most russian museums, there are no english explanations. Therefore, i would recommend to download the app before hand. The explanations on the app is quite sufficient. Be blown away with the creatures that use to roam our land!

Back in time is what you get when you visit this impressive collection. Parking can be tricky, there are no clear signs to the entrance and like most tourist destinations in Moscow no English information. You can down load an app on your smart phone that interacts with the displays. It's good but could be better for that reason alone.

If you are following the trip advisor list of places to vist moscow, this place really comes down low on the list. But if you love jurassic park, you will love this place, especially if you have kids. We reached here via the Konokovo Metro station and walked the way down here, but you could take a the bus if... It's does features some dinosaur and stuff from paleontologic era. But there's just no wow factor for me. Full trip would take around 1 hour. Wouldn't recommend tourist here unless you have a Russian Student card as that would give u huge discount. Plus it's hard to access here from the city centre. A Metro and around 10 minutes walk... Great place to visit, very big and complete collection, several floors full with various bones, describing history of evolution. May be not so interesting if you don't know anything about paleontology, because there are almost no big descriptions about the expo, only small names of the dinosaurs. Don't know whether there are official english guides.

Very nice as well as useful place to visit with children aged under 14. Huge paleontologic collection. Restored at nature size dinosaurs and much more. Good time to spend for all family. Take a couple hours for visiting current exposition. Have a fun!)
