A little bit hidden between buildings

Built in 1678 and firstly renovated in 1865, this little church was built in baroque style and has a square shape, one single dome only and no columns. As usual, the Soviets closed it down in the 1920s and partly destroyed it. After a long restoration which lasted about 10 years, it came back to worship in 1991, by bringing the Cross of Nikon the Patriarch from Kiy island: this cross is made with particles of more than 300 saint's bodies, it's made of cypress wood coming from Jerusalem and has the same size as Jesus' cross.
