Built to memorialize Alexander II following his assassination in 1881, this magnificent church with Italian pink marble floors and numerous mosaics was modeled after 16th and 17th century churches, contrasting sharply with the prevailing architectural styles.

This tourist attraction is a must see for beautiful pictures inside and out. It is near shopping, a river and much more. The paintings inside are beautiful. This church is said to be build on the land where Peter the great was stabbed.

This is a beautiful church and a must see while in St. Petersburg. When we visited there was scaffolding on part of it.

The church is one of the most impressive sights in St Petersburg with its lovely coloured onion domes, and situation beside the river. The inside is even better, with every surface covered in beautiful mosaics. A must see in St Petersburg.

The exterior is an incredible site in itself with multiple decorated domes but the interior was almost beyond description. Opulent , gold, mosaics, marble, precious stones. WOW
