The "Field of Mars" holds a special place in the hearts of St Petersburg residents. Unless, you read about the history before you arrive it seems to be nothing special. A flat field with some type of structures in the center of the field. When...More

A great place to come and take 5 minutes or longer, plenty of seating and unlike some of the other parks you can go on the grass. Situated in the centre of the part is the eternal flame for the commemoration of fallen soldiers.

Very cozy. Not a lot of people. I think the tourists are well photographed. Not so much garbage. Good for a picnic. It is calm and beautiful. But you should come in summer only.

On a sunny day it is a nice walk on your way to the summer gardens. Locals like to hang on the grass. In the middle is an everlasting flame for the victims of the Russian Revolution.

Not really worth going out of your way to see this area, but if you're going somewhere and can pass through it then walk the way. Seeing the Spilt Blood Church in the distance over beautiful trees is a bonus.

This park, with its memorial to those who fell during the Revolution, is a somewhat sombre place. It is impossible to visit here without thinking about what the revolution meant to most Russians so it is a special place. Just a simple memorial instead of...More
