A bit of Czarist era Russia lingering into the present
May 2020
During my Road Scholar visit to St Petersburg in 2018 we visited Magazin Kupstov Yeliseyevykh on Nevsky Prospekt with its moving window displays and Nouveau style interior decor. The food displays were opulent, with fresh oysters and a selection of caviar, plus baked goods, sweets, teas and cafe service. Well worth a visit!

Iconic place to visit
Jul 2019
A magnificent building in the Art Nouveau style, beautiful interior of the store, crystal chandeliers, exquisite stucco. Beautiful place where you can buy all sorts of sweets, cakes, pastries and fine chocolates. Also lots of luxury goods, mainly delicstassen type meats and cheeses, plus come local delicacies . Nice atmosphere and good service. Great interior and background music.Pop in, even for a quick visit.

Pleasant surprise
Feb 2020
It was cold and we needed something to warm us up. The place looked like Fortnum and Mason in London, so we were expecting high prices. However, the food and drink was very good and very reasonably priced. The ambience was great. We also ended up buying gifts for our friends there with the help of the very professional and helpful staff.

a glimp of the past

Eliseev Store situated right on the Nevsky Prospekt is definately the most beautiful grocery store you have ever seen. It was built in the beginning of the 20th century for the wealthy merchants, Eliseev brothers. Once an impressive showcase for an ambitious family business, the store had seen some rough times but fortunately has been restored to its full art-deco magnificence and is a must-see food emporium, glittering with chandeliers and Art Nouveau. This is probably the most kitschy food hall you’ll ever encounter, making it great to just have a peek inside. There are many expensive delicacies such as caviar, vodka, teas, and other gourmet products.

This old fashioned coffee house is ideal for toursts who want a coffee and a cake.
Beautifully decorated with a huge fake palm in the middle of the shop.
Lots of food purchases are available but we has coffee and cake and were very happy.
Lots of yummy choices!

Impressive

The building is beautiful from the outside and the inside. The desserts are excellent and beautifully made. A excellent experience all along. The only thing that wasn’t so good was that the whole place was crowded with people.

Piece of Gastronomique History
Jul 2019 • Family
In the centre of St.Petersburg, at the corner of Nevsky Prospect and Malaya Sadovaya Street is located the famous Russian gastronome – Eliseevy Merchants’ Shop. Here you can find fish and meat delicacies, exquisite French desserts, vodka, natural oils and dressings, chocolate and fresh bakery. The shop itself is worth a visit.
We had a coffee with some chocolates. Nice. But the atmosphere, here, makes the difference, even if too crowded.
Don't miss a visit!!!

Nice store
Jul 2019 • Family
It’s a very nice store. However, it is very small and gets very crowded with tourists. Unfortunately, I had to leave without buying anything as I felt very uncomfortable in this hot and crowded store.

Colours and a piece of history 👏
May 2019 • Solo
Oldest shop (magazin in St Petersburg), where in the old time people of high class came to puchase high end products and have cup of coffee or a meal in the cafe downstairs 😁 Location is superb, straight on Nevski Prospekt. Building is amazing from inside and outside, there are huge scupltures on the facade ❤️ Love the window displays - playful and colourful. Inside of the building is in a vivid colours and as it was in the old age. In the middle of the shop is self-playing piano, which makes amazing music 👏 You can puchase here a lot of interesting products, like handcrafed marcipan figurines and chocolate 💝 There are staff walking around the shop who are friendly and willing to help you as they can and make your shopping a little bit easier. Definately recommend to have a peak or a coffee in the downstairs cafe, it is worth to see 😉
