I enjoyed a walk along the banks of the Neva. There is a neat statue of Peter the Great and you can also boats and beautiful buildings. I think some of the smaller canals are more charming.

Very nice to walk along the Neva. Lots of traffic on the south side next to the footpath. Can be a bit cold and windy but of course it is Russia.

We took a Neva Canal boat ride with SPB tours. This was a relaxing journey allowing us to see the different sites from the waterways and not the streets. Much less traffic

Yes there are. I did the Neva river and canal trip, (twice - thanks to Mr.Putin's state visit). We should have done the Aurora trip, but it was cancelled because Putin was there.
