We saw La Sylphide here and very much enjoyed the performance. The theater is every bit as grand inside as the Bolshoi but at two thirds the price. If you're in Saint Petersburg and they're showing something of interest to you, by all means take...More

The Mariinskiy Theatre is a must and if you have the chance to see a performance, the best!!! We have seen BORIS GODUNOV, almost 180 people on stage, and the magnificent acoustics made it unforgettable. First class and also the treatment of the staff.

When selecting seats, note that the stall boxes are actually just on the side but at the same level (maybe slightly higher) as the orchestra seats.

I was in St.Petersburg during the "Stars of the white nights" music festival - and enjoyed it tremendously. One of the performances I enjoyed especially was "Betrothal in a monastery" - lyric-comic opera by Sergey Prokofiev. Brilliant staging, outstanding singers, attractive ballet scenes, amazing costumes,...More

Dear Fellow Traveller - Unfortunately there are no tours for the public. You need to possess a ticket for a running show to enter and witness the grandeur of the theatre.
