Almost every description is in Russian but in most rooms photo taking is prohibited. A old lady even stalks me to see if I would take a sneaky picture, although photo is allowed in that room...... If you cannot understand Russian, save your 250 Ruble for something else.

Much history captured by the Russian historians of the family tree of the Rukavishnikovs and the city of Nizhni Novgorod as well. Beautiful views of river Volga open up from the top rooms. For those who do not speak the language, it is better to take a tour. Floors are protected and you will have to wear shoe covers which... More

..in all their rich. The palace belonged to the rich merchantman' family, but looks rather as a nobleman' place. Marvelous exhibition inside.

This was one of very reach families of Nozhny Novgorod, and their palace was recently restored. Building and the content are in great condition, since there was museum and administrative buildings all the years after the October revolution.

Almost shocking me first time I saw it. There is a museum inside it with maximum possible recovery of the original rich and exquisite interior decoration, revealed in a study of the building, largely confirms the testimony of contemporaries construction of the mansion.

The museum is very impressive. Each room reflects the inner world of its owner. They are all different in decoration, furniture and energy. You gotta pay extra for taking pictures (100 roubles) but in my opinion they should let visitors take pictures in more than 2 rooms because the most interesting was before the Great Hall.
