The great littel museum offers insigt in the (in the West) little known Decabrist movement. Very nicely presented. We were blessed with a littel concert - great music, great staging, great champanskoje..

Travelers who have read Maria Volkonsky's Princess of Siberia will enjoy visiting this museum. Maria followed her husband to Siberia as an exile too. The book and a visit to this house bring history to life.

Exquisitely preserved house and belongings of the Russian 'Decembrists' who lead the revolt against and emperor and were exiled to Irkutsk. They created an intellectual society with the support of brave women who followed the Russian noblemen to exile in Siberia
