I went to the Guangdong Science Center with my 9 year old and 6 year old, frankly with low expectations based on the reviews on this site. Reviewers are spot on that this place is huge, almost too big. The actual building is a site to see, as it's grand and an architectural feat. Inside, there are definitely some exhibits... More

My child's preschool organized a field trip there. Stunning building, probably the most impressive modern architecture in Guangzhou. The science games are interesting but none of them worked!! Each room is staffed with a minder, who smiled & basically told you that the game is not in working order. I don't get it! What's the point of hiring the minder... More

As in everything in China is, the place is huge. The center has several galleries with a theme. We were however too tired to explore all, and just allowed the kids to have a great time in the Kids World gallery. Apart from the go-kart track inside, what they liked best was the make-believe supermarket where you go pick from... More

Visited on April 11, 2015 with a relative and their 5 year old kid. The architecture is nice, but that's about it. Many exhibits don't work, and the ones that do tend to get crowded. The only exhibits worth going to are the ones with lines and staff. I only went to one because even the biggest one could only... More

Well suddenly this beutiful Hughe Building appears, denpending of your perspective looks like Saturn... More

Like many science centers, lots of things don't work - but EVERYTHING is in CHinese too. So not only can you not DO much, but you can read and learn nothing unless you speak Chinese. Not worth the money or the time, unless you read Chinese and are bored.

You can get most of this place by driving around because there was not much to see on the inside. More than a Science Center, it is a Convention Center. There was a noodles exhibition when I visited, but was not open anyway. There is a souvenir shop inside the center, but you can get similar things in other places.... More
