This museum might be small, but is an absolute insider's tip: We were the only visitors and they switched the lights on extra for us! We got a personal guide to show us the museum: a very friendly young woman who spoke very good English and explained the main exhibits to us. She even gave us a short practical introduction... More

This is a very distinctive place, but usually it's hard to understand its real value and meaning, especially for the foreign guests don't know the Chinese ancient culture, so I need more detailed introduction and propaganda, make the viewers have prepared, and then to visit, will have a better effect。

This art museum is small but well worth a visit. We saw both old and new Chinese art and even had a calligraphy lesson. There is a small gift shop where you can purchase art done by art students and art professors from the local art school.

On the suggestion of our local tour guide, I visited this charming small museum. The museum provided a short tour featuring both older Chinese are works, to folk art, to works done by current art students. At the end of the tour there is an opportunity to try calligraphy . It was a lovely quiet way to spend an hour... More

Really pleasant and friendly staff and nice examples of historical art and more modern pieces, some of which you can buy. Was pretty cool to practice some Chinese writing

Nice short introduction to chinese art and a brief session to have a go at caligraphy which was enjoyed by all. Opportunity to buy reasonably priced paintings by art students, no pressure to buy.

We visited as part of our tour, and we almost certainly wouldn't have visited otherwise, which would have been a shame really as it was such an interesting museum. A real surprise and worth spending an hour here.

Visited as part our tour group. If I was travelling independently in all honesty I probably wouldn't have chosen to visit here but glad we did. Really enjoyed the informative talk about Chinese art and learning some Chinese calligraphy. Beautiful artwork and gifts available too. If in Xi'an, would highly recommend visiting here.

The Lady in this museum was fantastic, even the kids loved her explantions of the art, good information without loosing their attention, and her Caligraphy lesson was fun.
