A must see museum during your stay in Xi'an, it is also very popular with locals. Expect long queues if you intend to enter free. We decided to skip the queue by purchasing the 30¥ ticket at the empty counter on the right side. It...More

I didn't have a good look at what's actually exhibited in the museum as kids are running around, people poking and tapping on the display glasses. Noisy! The people not the museum.

A very well curated museum really designed to inform visitors about Shaanxi's long and influential history. Audio tours in several languages are available, and I heard Chinese guides interpreting. Many English signs. Free, but a small charge for a couple of special exhibits.

Dont visit before the terracotta warriors as there is a display here. History dating back to 600BC. Well laid out with some english signage. Very busy with tour groups.

Lots of the things were in Chinese but some had English translations. Our morning visit was very crowded. Some Terra Cotta figures were here. Multiple stories, Western toilets available. Ice cream and coffee on lowest floor.

This history museum covers the rise of Xi'an and the 13 dynasties that ruled there. Well set out and has a lot to see without over doing the displays. Well worth an hour or two to discover the history of ancient China.

Nice to see some of the Qin Dynasty in this museum = spent around 1.5 hours, it was enough for us - but they do have a lot of history here, so worth the trip
