The ancient city wall cannot be missed as you explore Xi'an. You only realise the enormity of the wall when you climb the stairs up to the top. An ancient masterpiece where you can walk the entire wall around 14 kilometers. Views are good too.

You can just imagine yourself defending the city! Very wide and spacious! Plenty of room to walk, ride bikes or take a large covered golf cart to the different openings. Bike, golf cart service rentals, souvenir shops and refreshments stands are located along the way....More

My friend and I enjoyed biking around the city wall. We took time to stop at the gates and corners to see the different watch towers and buildings. They are so colorful! Note that the wall is a bit rough in some places.

I have put “friends” because there was no category for a family with a 21 year old! Odynovo guide Betty took us to this Wall and gave us a fascinating explanation of it. She is knowledgeable, cheerful, friendly and flexible. We recommend seeing this City...More

Great walk or bike at Xi'an. We were here on a hot humid day. It's not so ideal but still a good opportunity to stroll around. I recommend wearing comfortable shoes, good clothing and wear a cap or sunscreen as sometimes even thought the sun...More

Xian was the starting point for the chinese silk road and the walls and sentry points/gates live up to that expectation.Excellent.

We went early in the morning and found this very peaceful. If we had more time we would have rented a bike and gone round more of it. Good level of sign posting and well kept.

Yes, you can rent helmets when you rent your bike. You need a cash deposit to rent the helmets and bikes. I didn’t rent a helmet and it was ok. The wall can get busy with all the bikes but it is a fairly smooth ride.

Once you leave you cannot renter. It’s very inexpensive to get in around 8 US dollars. I would recommend renting the bikes it’s a lot of fun and you can ride at your own pace. Stopping and viewing the city it’s beautiful.

Open all the time! You now have to pay to go there. Not expensive like 10 US dollars. You can even rent bike to ride around. It is about 15 km around. Very nice!
