Plan for enough time on this attraction. You can rent a bicycle to bike around the wall - we would have loved to do that! Very impressive.

Historical ancient city wall. Maybe the only once well protected in China. Rent a bicycle and make a full tour is an unforgettable experience.

This city wall looks amazing at night time and you can walk on the wall easily. We stayed at Grand Park Xi'an which looks directly out onto the City Wall

With a guide to give you the history it is interesting and you have a good vantage point. Lost count of the number and styles of wedding photographs being taken.

This was by far one of my favorite experiences in Xi’an. I rented a bike at the East Gate and rode clockwise to the South Gate. The wall is much longer than I thought and biking around made it easy to see so much of...More

We were inside the walled city, explained Peter and now were off to see the wall at close quarters. Walled city? Unlike other cities/towns, where the walled portion houses the old city quarters, Xi'an is a tad different. While care has been taken to preserve...More

I rode bike 20 years ago but in 2018 I actually did not see anyone doing the same thing. Perhaps there are too many visitors now. But I assume they won't have helmet even if they rent bike because there are no cars so it is... More

Once you leave you cannot renter. It’s very inexpensive to get in around 8 US dollars. I would recommend renting the bikes it’s a lot of fun and you can ride at your own pace. Stopping and viewing the city it’s beautiful.

Open all the time! You now have to pay to go there. Not expensive like 10 US dollars. You can even rent bike to ride around. It is about 15 km around. Very nice!
