You can take a leisurely stroll along the wall or rent a bike to ride it. Plenty of signs inform you of the significance of the different parts of the wall. You can go inside the barbican which contained a display of the history of...More

I visited the City Wall at Xi'an, which was one of the highlights of a four-city trip to China with a group of students. We rented bicycles and rode them around the top of the city wall. The width and circumfrence of the wall far...More

The best way to see this impressive restored Tang Dynasty city wall and 13 gates is by renting a bicycle and biking the 13.7 km route. There are many benches, viewing spots, snack venues and easy to find bathrooms to make for a perfect day.

The wall is in amazing condition and has some great views but I’d recommend riding a bike around it. We had just finished a 3 day hike so our poor feet were sore already - we really should have bikes it. We only walked part...More

Interested to get a feel of a structure from a different era. Would recommend utilising the shuttle car available to get a more relaxing experience than having to walk every where.

Strolled along the city wall during our visit to China. A wonderful structure and well maintained. Cycle hire enables you to get further if time is limited.

A bit boring, strictly for fans of China's history. Glad I have supported the City but it was very uninspiring,

We were not expecting the wall and we were pleasantly surprised with the history, the views and the walk around Xi’an.

Open all the time! You now have to pay to go there. Not expensive like 10 US dollars. You can even rent bike to ride around. It is about 15 km around. Very nice!

I believe that only the South Gate is open at night. To the south of the South Gate there is a show on in the night, which could be nice to look at from the wall. I'm not sure what times it is on, but it involves some... More

Agree with John P. Bike rentals are right where you come up the stairs. I think all the bike rental places on the wall are all the same company. You can rent from one and drop off at another. I did have to trade bikes at... More
