After walking around the city centre all walking really wanted to visit this museum but unfortunately it was completely emptied without any info when will the exhibition come back.

The outside of this building looks like one of those bland old Soviet-era huge buildings. I don't understand the negative reviews of this place. It may not be the Met, but this is China, not NYC. My wife and I found the well-lit exhibits of native costumes very informative, not to mention colorful. And it's free.

They have a great display of minority nationality costumes & artifacts on the top floor. I visited this museum 5+ years ago & it has improved significantly since then.
