The Summer Palace in Beijing was based on the beautiful scenery at West Lake in Hangzhou, which the emperor at the time loved. It's well worth a walk or cycle around. Its a very lively area with locals singing and dancing and there's a few snack and souvenir shops around. Good for taking scenic photos of traditional Chinese scenery. Don't... More

Me and my collegues were taken here on ou company trip. We all had a great time and enjoyed the nature and scenic spots very much. Unfortunately the weather was not very good but I was picturing the lake during sprint and imagines it would be a perfect spot for a sunny day.

This lake is just breathtaking. It is serene and calm and is a perfect place to unwind and relax. There are also many spots/locations around the lake that are unique and are special attractions in themselves. Also located nearby are other attractions such as the Dragon Well tea plantation village and Xixi Wetlands.

Went there in January and its quite cold. Beautiful scenery & sculptures. Recommended for those who loves taking pictures. Provides boat ride at reasonable price. There are musical fountain with beautiful lights at night. Cafe & food there are over priced though.

Magic twilight hour offers water reflections, mountain background, tree lined paths, pagoda's , walking bridges, tai chi practitioners, and more. Mile after mile of tree lined lakeside park to stroll along. We visited in December so no blooming water lilies. More than made up for when entire mountain side lights up after dark in white lights reflecting on water. World... More

Our guide told us the lake deserves the reputation as a world heritage site mainly due to its history. we were convinced of this at the sight of the three stone pagodas known as Three Pools Mirroring the Moon. Definite amazing if you check the one yuan RMB note!

We took a boat tour and then walked around the lake - LOVED it! I would highly recommend this for any tour of China.
