    Rather small
This seafood market is rather small as compared to the Sapporo Curb Market. The shops here are selling fresh crabs, scallops, uni and many different kinds of dried seafood. I found the place to be rather disappointing as there are limited shops and most of them are selling the same thing. Seems like a tourist trap to me.

    Interesting Market with Pricey Seafood
We poked around in here for a bit to see if we could find a good deal for some fresh seafood. We are sure it is good but a lot of the prices were higher than we expected. There are quite a few small restaurants but they close pretty early and some were sold out of items like urchin when we went so it might be worth going early. We feel as though the tsukiji outer market is more exciting and our friend shared with us that Otaru is more exciting if you're looking for market fresh seafood.

Good place to get fresh seafood
Small seafood market that only sells fresh fruits. Because the stalls face outwards you don’t feel claustrophobic when it’s crowded. Not the cheapest place to get Kaisendon but I will still go because the seafood was very fresh. Go before 10 or else you will have to queue for the popular restaurants. Don’t buy the fruits though you can get cheaper fruits elsewhere.

Came here after having visited the Sankaku Market in Otaru, and what a difference. The Otaru Sankaku Market was a delight to visit, the sellers are very friendly and helpful, and I must say they offer much better value for money. Nijo Market, as some reviewers have commented, can be a tourist trap, and the attitudes toward tourists are far from great.
I would suggest, since Sapporo visitors would usually make at least a day trip to Otaru, to give this place a miss and visit the Otaru one. However, if one is not visiting Otaru, it is still alright to have a Kaisendon at the Nijo market, no problems, but for us the difference between the 2 places affected our opinion of Nijo.

Visited in the afternoon and noticed some of the stalls had closed. However there are still quite a couple of shops still open and from the pricing displayed, it feels like a tourist trap.

a Lot cleaner than tsukiji fish market and not too crowded. Since we came in winter, theres lots of crabs on bargain and cooked on the spot.

Fish market, similar to Tsukiji in Tokyo, but smaller. We were happy we went, but were not overly impressed with the quality of oysters or shrimp sashimi that we enjoyed.

The market is a fun atmosphere and is worth a visit!

This place it touristic and expensive. However this is the only market in town that opens up at 6:00 AM giving you the possibility to eat breakfast; so, unless your idea of a morning meal exclusively encompasses brioches, milk and coffee or bacon and scrambled eggs, you will find some incredibly fresh fish to eat and a nice and hot miso soup. It is true that you see crabs (kanì) everywhere but to not forget that one of the best specialties in Hokkaido is sea urchin (Unì) and you really might want to give them a try here, in Sapporo. I suggest breakfast because you will only run into Japanese people and will probably avoid the tourist turmoil and mess.

Loads of fresh seafood that you can eat on the spot. We had oysters the size of our face and clams that were palm size.

Super great food
