Leaving this review just to warn others. We headed to Kobe for one night, mainly to go up Mt Maya in the evening. Unfortunately it was a Tuesday when the cable cars don't operate (and middle of a heat wave to climbing really was not...More
Guest House Maya has free cable car passes that will get you to the top of Mt. Maya. You can also walk up if you like. The day I went up, the view at the top was stunning. Clear blue sky, bright sun, you could...More
About a 15 min taxi ride from Harborland to the magical view.
Queues for cable car and ropeway non existent for what should be this top tourist Kobe attraction. Hospitality from ticket staff impeccable on how to find your way back to downtown. The officer...More
Mt Maya should be no. 1 attraction on Kobe, the view from top is just amazing. One can see the whole coastline extending upto Osaka. Night sight is equally amazing and deserves a mention. Think this should be top attraction site in whole of osaka...More

Bus stop is immediately to the left of the entrance way as you exit to the road. The people in the Mt Maya ticketing booth speak good English and they can explain how the bus works and give you a map the bus will take. You pay on exiting bus not entering. Station stops are obvious as you pull into them. Bus drivers can tell you if you are at the right one if you show them your map.
Mt Maya is a great view with no queues so enjoy it while it lasts and the cable car rides.
