Beautiful gardens and peaceful walking paths. The gardens and views were amazing. Take your time and enjoy the peacefulness. As with every other place we visited the people are so kind and helpful.

When it comes to temples I normally shy away from visiting them. Always thinking more to do with religion rather than anything else. However when you see the construction of these temples its mind numbing to think it is all hand made. Beautiful stunning scenery

Briefly walked through the temples and gardens, another nice peaceful place. Worth walking to the south up the hill to the top of the incline also! Ensure you check out the ancient aqueduct!

I have visited a lot of temples in Kyoto, but would say this was my favourite as the gardens were huge and great to wander around it and enjoy the peace they offer. I didn't go into the main temple (as I have been to...More

We skipped the temple - kids were getting templed out but the garden was worth a visit. Small but very pretty. Again, we'll run with a loop path so lots of opportunities for photos. Went up the back to the waterfall that we had read...More

Amazing temple built in 1281 and kept in perfect condition. Climb the steep steps to the top for a great view of the surrounding area. This was my favorite temple during my entire vacation.

This is a quieter temple than most in Kyoto but it is just as nice and there are many things around it to see. There is a must see waterfall that is a little bit of a hike to get to but well worth it....More

End of summer was all green... Pretty, but I guess it will be stunning in the fall. The roof tops are pretty from the second floor viewing area and the aqueduct is nice.

Perfect time to visit in Spring. There are too many stairs so I recommend to only visit the gardens on the ground. Always worth a visit though.
