The foliage is peaking and it’s a great place to visit. Tickets are ~$4 for an adult and $~3 for a child (very well worth it!). Some of the shrines at the front are under construction but you can still see some great views of...More

Main hall is in renovation when I visited here. But from the entrance, we can enjoy autumn ambience. It is more beautiful if we can enjoy it from main hall. It is very crowded. Better go earlier in morning. We can use Kimono here and...More

We visited in the heart of November at night time. The illumination of the trees and temples are beautiful and has a fantasy-like feel to it. It’s also less crowded. Bright hues of red and yellow, beautiful city views, all from a majestic temple. My...More

Definitely a must see when visiting Kyoto. Amazing architecture and spectacular views over Kyoto. Quite a steep walk up to the temple along narrow streets lined with touristy and traditional craft shops.

Kiyomizu is beautiful and the walk up is as much a part of the experience as anything else. It’s a great lesson in enjoying the journey and not just the destination. Be prepared to work on finding some zen amidst big crowds.

This temple is a must go! It is quite a trek up but it's well worth the views. I arrived not long before closing so had to rush to the drinking well where it's rumoured to prolong your life! I highly recommend this.

Really nice place. A lot of people, of course. The fall Japanese maples are simply amazing, despite the cloudy weather.

Visited here in winter and it was jam packed with like-minded tourists there to catch a glimpse of the beautiful temple grounds. Check out the side streets after you're done walking around the temple complex for ice-cream and souveniers. Easily accessible by bus and it's...More

If the famous shot of the balcony is what you are wanting to see, 24torus’s photo says it all. We were unaware and were thus disappointed. I don’t know what it is like on other days of the week, but clathrate’s photo is... More
