Nice for a stroll and great temple

A real nice park for walking around plus there is a beautiful temple to the west of the park near the park gate (I don't know what it is called).

I was a bit surprised by this park as the gardens are not as beautiful or maintained as what we had seen in Japan. The main entrance is a shrine with hawkers selling takoyaki and fruits. Then the pathway leads to various other shrines(8-9 I think). This park is definitely not stroller friendly and there are no baby changing facilities.... More

Maruyama Park is without question my favourite park in the world! I've been here quite a few times over the last few years, and it's just such an amazing place! In off peak season it's really peaceful and relaxing, sometimes there is a person playing music from a flute. There is an iconic sakura tree in the middle of the... More

Brought sandwiches and beverages. Sat under fuji trellis and enjoyed the waning Sakura with hundreds of others.

If you love going to parks. You will love this place. Its very pretty at night. Best to go there before the sunset and reserve a table under the trees. Nice way to end the day with beer and some grilled meat.

Really special place to sit amongst the blossoming cherry trees with excellent street food and hot sake. Everyone was so chilled out and it was easy to strike up a conversation with anyone and have a laugh.

Amazed by the beautiful Sakura. it was rainy. We went again the night after as we were in the area and enjoyed the illuminated trees. It was crowded with young locals mostly with few tourists as well.

In April, the park's cherry blossom trees are in full bloom and the park is full of food vendors and locals having picnics. Perfect for a stroll or a snack.

I went late morning on a Monday during peak blossoms and it wasn't too crowded. It certainly gets packed later in the day - I came back around 4pm it was getting overwhelmed by crowds. There were tons of food stalls, with a surprising number of vegetarian options (tofu "steaks" on a stick, indian food, grilled corn), plenty of standard... More

A nice park just a small walk away from the end of the preserved street Ninenzaka. We visited just before Cherry Blossom season in 2016 and unfortunately the massive Cherry Blossom tree in the center of the park wasn't in much bloom yet. I imagine it would look amazing when fully bloomed. The park is quite spacious and has a... More
