The Tonbori river cruise is a 20 minute tour that brings you to basically see the several small bridges that run along the Tonbori river. Would I do it again? Probably not. I could hardly understand the English of the tour guide, sad to say.

Pretty boring cruise up and down the river, under the many bridges. Made great by our tour guide with a mix of Japanese and English, jokes, anecdotes, explanations and fun humour. Especially fun to do late at night after dinner, and before midnight snacks! Wrap up warm as the cruise is completely open topped. You can book tickets on the... More

800y is a lot to pay for this 20 min river cruise unless you can access for free through having an amazing osaka pass. Basically you can walk the short route in the same time. Also even with the pass its really only worth the effort after dark.

Visited this using the Osaka Amazing Pass. The tour is every hour so need not worry about missing it. Is just a short ride along the river. We went during afternoon, was a bit hot.

9 dollars per person for a boat ride that is advertised as a 20 minute excursion but in reality was 15 minutes as 5 minutes was just spent making a U-turn and waiting to dock. You cross 9 bridges but the last few bridges, there is nothing to see and the others, you can simply cross on foot. When you... More

The cruise, which runs for 20 minutes, is run by a very polite and amiable staff that provides a little history lesson and entertainment via tourist participation. The tour guide spoke in Japanese and English. It was a great way to soak in the sights of Dotonburi.

Really enjoyed the Tonbori River Cruise in the evening, all the bright lights, boat hostess was cheerful and fun. Only problem is that we would have liked it to be longer.

A short but entertaining way of spending half an hour or so during the day, staff are marvellous and spoken english excellent. Umbrellas are provided to protect against the rain or intense sun.

One of the cutest things we did in Osaka was this Tombori River Cruise. It was 900¥, or $9.00 American & it was short but fun. Recommend you going at dusk when all the buildings & lights are lit. The guide speaks only Japanese but, we had a great time.

We did this cruise on a sunny day and therefore the ceiling had a curtain to protect you from the sun shining into the Air conditioned boat. Still if you sit on the window you have a great view to some of the land marks in Osaka. The ride is about one hour and was very enjoyable.
