Wow! Another history experience. I only can imagine in those days...the temple gods were very impressive and POWERFUL...but yet you feel serenity.. couldn't take pictures, so i had to buy postcards...to capture the memories..

On my research I saw that it's a temple closest to where I was staying so I decided to visit. It really wasn't close at all so I ended up walking longer than I intended. It's not like the temples in Kyoto where you'll find a lot of tourists. It kinda felt like I shouldn't really be there taking pictures... More

Nice place to visit for some peaceful reflection of your inner-zen past life. Not really one of your main tourist attraction, which makes it an ideal place to relax and have some quite time from the usual touristy places in the city.

I think this was one of the temples where I can tell that we're the only foreigners at that time. unlike some of the temples, we went to it feels solemn and more traditional as it is a little tucked away (though a accessible by a 10 minutewalk from Tennoji Station)

This place is a Buddhist temple and is very quiet. It is quite a stroll through a residential area to reach this place. Not a highly touristy area.

They have two towers to visit. One being a pagoda which you can climb with your shoes off (they provide a bag for you to store and carry with) It was a really hot day and they didnt have AC in the pagoda. The other temple is a nice area to pray.

Whilst this isn't a huge site with lots to see, it's still well worth a visit. The pagoda alone is worthy of seeing and the statues in the shrine are very beautiful. There are also gardens to walk round and the entrance fee is reasonable

It's not a massive tourist attraction, but the entrance fee is really small. You would go to this place just to see some local attraction and perhaps experience a little of the religion. You can choose to skip it if time is tight, otherwise, why not?

We walked through old cemeteries and school on the way to the temple... interesting to see moms pick up mids from school by riding bicycles with 3 kids (1 carried with ergo + 1 in front + 1 at the back)... only in japan i think... For the temple, nothing much to see... i would choose to skip this temple... More

It is one of the oldest temples in Japan with a five-storied pagoda, which required admission to see it. However the outer temple grounds are free to enter. Quite a fair bit to see at the outer grounds.
