An entrance fee is necessary for this temple to see the main hall and the five-storied pagoda. Because they are surrounded by high walls, I was not able to see those buildings appearance from the outside.

The shrine/temple is quite enough and no much people come to here. The location is close to Tennoji shopping mall, bus and train station.

The temple is a short walk from Tennoji Station. The entrance gate is so beautiful and you can see a monk outside the gate wearing traditional Japanese garments. The main attraction is the multi tiered pagoda.

We visited Shitennoji Temple as part of a city tour of Osaka and we were not that impressed by what we saw. This temple does not compare to what can be seen in Tokyo and Kyoto.

Quiet place. Clean toilet. Nothing much to see really except the buildings, lots of trees, and statues.

Went there early morning, and as the sun rises, we saw lots of turtles in the pond, going up the platform, for "sunbathing" which was cute.. Imagine hundreds of them together.

This is a nice, quaint, old temple that is worth a visit. It is tranquil, peaceful and a quiet oasis in juxtaposition from the crowded city life. I visited at the start of the Golden Week, on a Saturday when the rest of Osaka was...More

There is a fee if you want to enter the temple inner surroundings. But if you remain outside, you don't have to pay.
