When you have visited a number of temples they all start to look the same. Got some great pics here. When you go into the main hall there were lots of little vivariums with crickets in.

What makes it "worthwhile" to visit this temple is its beautiful grounds with neat lawns & blue hydrangea flowers (maybe seasonal flowers though), but here you won't see any big beautiful pond with rocks & colorful fish in it as you would at many Japanese...More

This is my favorite buddhist temple in Nagasaki. A great place to visit at any season and visit the well kept gardens. Superb historical buildings, Relaxing and calm atmosphere.

Kofukuji Temple is worth a visit in its own right. It is a relatively well-preserved Chinese Buddhist Temple from the 1620s. What makes it more worth the walk is that it is only one of several temples and shrines all along the same road on...More

Some chinese history like other temples in Nagasaki too. Great Palm trees just in front of the main building. Definetely worth the 300.-JPY entrance fee.

Came on a rainy day. The rain turned into a light drizzle just as we entered the area and the setting made me feel like I was in a movie. To the right of the main temple, there is a little area with a room...More

After visiting Sofukuji Temple we ask the ticket man how to get to Kofukuji which is more or less at the other end of the long string of temples. The two maps, in Japanese only, posted at the front of Sofukuji are difficult to decipher....More
