Love the spacious and lovely park, with all the ships docking so nearby, and air so fresh. Met lots of locals who brought their dogs out for walk here. Beautiful place to strike up a conversation with dog owners here.

I always thought that promenading was a typically English/British thing, walking along the edges of a port or along a pier to show off your latest fashion or just to take in the sea air and enjoy the views. In Nagasaki I was shown how to do it in style, the Seaside Park was the perfect setting, sunset falling over... More

We spent hours just watching everything going on in this park from kite flying, football, cricket, skateboarding, pick nicking and even people playing music and singing.

Great for morning walks to enjoy the quiet and get some fresh seaside air. The park has several areas for dog walkers and for others. I notice that people use this park in a variety ways from morning exercises, to dog walking, running or just sitting by the fountain and contemplating life. Bring a cup of coffee and just enjoy... There are lots of beautiful cherry trees blooming in March. You can also see the port and Mt. Inasa from the park too.

There are some treed paths, otherwise it's an open grassy space that juts out into the harbour just south of Dejima wharf - which makes it a good place to get views of the ships, buildings and hills.

On a very hot sunday, we decided to sit in the shade of a tree in this lovely seaside park, where the heat of the day was made bearable by a lovely little breeze from the sea.

You can take a good rest here, walking around a nicely landscaped park with a bit more space than the nearby older city quarters.
