- Lakmali SenanayakeNugegoda, Sri Lanka6 contributionsAn exciting trip for the little ones and us!Our trip to KL was a 4 day trip from the 27th to the 31st of December and all entertainment was planned solely for the kids. After some research I was able to shortlist a couple of attractions to take the kids to and the Discovery Centre topped the list. What a fantastic trip it was both my kids 2.5 and 3.5yr olds loved it, enjoyed every minute of it and so did we. We spent about 3hrs in there, opted for walking in as we had to wait for 45min for the ride. The entrance ticket costs about 28MR for adults and 16.5MR for kids. It was such an educational and fun filled trip.Visited December 2019Travelled with familyWritten 1 February 2020
- AdelaideFamilyof5Reynella, Australia1,488 contributionsWay more fun than we expectedThis place is on Level 4 of Petronas Towers. When we arrived there was a school group in front of us and we thought it may make our experience longer than normal. Except for the beginning, it wasn't an issue. Cost when we were there was 28 MYR per person. At the beginning you are taken on a small cart on wheels and they step you through some technology over different areas of Malaysia's history. You are the dropped into the exhibition area. There are 11 exhibits to see. Space, Time Tunnel, Geotime Diorama, Science Station, Sparkz, Oil Platform, Speed, Molecule Nano World, Future Energy and 3D Theatre. There is a Cafe about 1/2 way through which stocks basic snacks and coffee at a reasonable price. After 2 hours we had only done 1/2 of the exhibitions. We rushed the last bit and had already spent 3.5 hours there. Could of spent 4-5 hours.Visited December 2019Written 14 January 2020
- wkhloh161 contributionsDefinitely go!I'd give it 6 stars if I could! Highly recommended. It's so unassuming, but right from the start (the ride in the drop of oil) you're captivated. All my kids loved it (5, 8, 10). We spent 3 hours there, but could've been more. Was even contemplating a 2nd visit. We spent a lot of time at the early exhibits (space area) which meant speeding through the later ones. I'd recommend setting aside 4 hours or more, cos there is just so much to get through. It's informative and interactive so fun for everyone.Visited January 2020Travelled with familyWritten 28 January 2020

Our recent visit to Petrosains Science Discovery Centre was disappointing. The activities were too closely packed together, making it challenging to navigate and queue. especially on weekends when the crowd size is larger. It would be great if the activities were spread out more, allowing visitors to have enough space to queue and play comfortably. Additionally, many stations were not working properly, indicating poor maintenance. This was disappointing as it limited our ability to fully engage with and explore the exhibits.
The arcade section, which seemed out of place in a science centre, had height restrictions of 150cm that excluded younger children. This meant that families with younger children were unable to fully enjoy this section. I believe it would be beneficial to include a few rides specifically designed for kids below 140cm to provide a more inclusive experience for families.
one notable exhibit at Petrosains Science Discovery Centre was a large area showcasing a mockup of an offshore oil station. While it was interesting to see and learn about the setup, there was limited interaction available for visitors. It would have been great if there were more hands-on activities or simulations to enhance the educational experience and provide a better understanding of how such stations operate.
Overall, the experience did not meet our expectations, and considering the high price of 155 ringgit for non-Malaysians, I cannot recommend it as a worthwhile experience. I personally won't be visiting again, as I believe there are better options available that offer a more fulfilling and value-for-money experience.

One of the most affordable attractions in KL. Kids fee only rm10 (Malaysian). Worth every penny. You will need to spend minimum 2-3hours. Please come in the morning or you will missed a lot of stuff in there.
This was our 3rd visit. We went in at 3:30pm and we missed:
- big slide (close at 4:30. )
- mini movie (close at 4:30)
- makers studio also close early.
-Even the cafe closed. This pissed me off because kids were hungry and thirsty. The food were plenty but they wont serve us because its 5pm!!
At least put up a vending machine.
Oh and the capsule ride is rm5/pax. They used to be free. Kids enjoy the ride.

Visiting here for in the morning where it was not too crowded, and the experience is not disappointing and above my expectation. They have lot of activities for kids (ours are teens) and adult, i.e. games, displays, hands-on, etc. and they are so engaging, that in the end we spent almost 4 hours.

A very well made museum with great activities for both kids and adults to discover about the ways of science and how science is all around us. I would suggest to book tickets in advance and allow yourself a good 2-4h if you really want to enjoy everything. We spent so long in the first part of the museum that we had to rush the other parts to make our other plans.

Very few changes since they opened up, and we have been coming here over the past 10 years and it’s obvious it’s not fully up to date. A number of activities/showcase’s aren’t even working despite they had time during the pandemic to sort this out.
It will be over last visit until the give this place a full overhaul.

An interesting concept science centre which starts off with a right to talk about the energy and its transition. This is followed by alot of hands on experiments. However, place ia very crowded with many school kids and long queuea for many of the experiences.

I visited this centre last Sunday with my relatives. One of them is a five year old girl. She got a cut on her upper ear after bumping gently into a fixture. She needed three stitches. So it your centre really suitable for small kids?

Kids always get bumps and knocks where ever they are, there is nothing here that is particularly dangerous for kids, we took a 7 and 9 year old with no problems

Will it be too boring for 3yo toddlers?
Phil R
Hamilton, New Zealand162 contributions
Largely depends on the 3 year old. There are activities which would be suitable, but not a lot. If your 3 year old needs to be constantly entertained with changing things they will get bored quickly, we took 7 and 9 year old, was good for them

1 - Yes!
2 - As per my review, if you want to make sure to get the best souvenirs, go there early. Also, if you have kids, make sure they are well rested and well fed because they'll be on foot for at least 3 hours. Avoid weekends at all costs because if the massive crowds and lengthy queuing times
3 - as above.
Enjoy!
