I could’ve walked around here forever. The gardens are beautiful and extensive. It is luscious and green and there is a lot to see! Waterfalls, a river, lots of monitors, and an abundance of flowers, even deer- everything you could want in a botanic garden. I would recommend being prepared with food and water when you go there as the grounds are big and you have a lot of space in between facilities, but that is expected from gardens.

I’ve visited a number of times now and it’s taken me a while to realise just how beautiful this place is. It’s really well maintained too. All the trees are labelled so identification is no problem. Ideal for photographers. There are so many shots, but don’t go at the weekend if you want people free images. It’s so quiet and peaceful during the week. It’s easily walkable from the city, otherwise take a Grab or the MRT.

We arrived at 8.30 am. Parked at a multi-storey parking just next to the entrance to Taman Botani Perdana.
Definitely the best place to park. ( WAZE : Rebung Restaurant Dato Chef Ismail as the restaurant is on the 5th floor)
Then we walked to the entrance ( about 30 m)
Park had very few signages. We followed Google Map to get around the park. TQ Google!
Too many things to see and admire . Full of flora & fauna, mini parks, playgrounds and one big lake. Easily 6500 steps, we managed to finish in 2 hours. But we couldn’t cover the whole area..its too big.
Will come again.

Sadly only two entrances are currently open, forces us to walk over a kilometer to find a gate. Poor or nonexistent signage regarding entrances. Maps in park are so faded they cannot be read. Large park (9+ hectares) but no drinking fountains, few places to sit, poorly marked walkways.

I am so confused in the park.the park is soo huge and lack of legends and map are not helping.there is many attractions which are closed sadly due to covid. Need to bring umbrella, the park is well shaded in some area but not everywhere.

Given all the restrictions on public gatherings etc we were suprised by how crowded the gardens were. The gardens are nice and generally well maintained. There is no entry fee. Best to go in the morning in order to avoid the heat of the day.

Beautiful park and excellent way of seeing greenery in the city. Lots of different plants and trees to be seen. Even a small waterfall for photo opportunities. The park has a little shot inside to buy refreshments and also bathrooms within there. parking available at the North main entrance but not that many but can be access by metro and its only a 5 min walk from the park.

Built in 1889, this piece of paradise has changed names many times maybe to shed it's British era colonial past and make it sound more Malaysian. This botanical garden seems to be thriving in humid weather and provides not only relief, comfort in heat, but all kinds of educational, learning and conservation efforts that city is making to promote awareness and importance of having a nature presence in an urban jungle like KL.
There are many attractions within the whole area. If you just want a city park experience, the entry is free with multiple entry points and you have access to ponds, lake, mini waterfalls, shaded tree areas, historic heritage buildings and monuments. For animal lovers there's a butterfly museum, deer and bird park.
And those with deeper appreciation for natural world, there are various botanical gardens with rare plants/flowers/trees that are not only native to the region but from different parts of the the world that can also grow in tropic climate.
It's one place I can never get tired of.

It is indeed a beautiful green garden. Despite few areas under maintenance, it is a good place to jog, walk and relax with family. To all malaysians, let's preserve our beautiful aset, help keep clean and tidy so that our future generation can also feel this beautiful experience. For those not keen to walk, you can take the buggy at RM 10 per person. The buggy driver (mamu) is awesome and sharing lots of information about the attractive areas.

hi, we would like to celebrate birthday at the garden with minor decorations. Do we need to ask permission from the authority?...its just 6 of us.

If it is only 6 of you, you do not need to get the permission of the authority of the Botanical Garden. We have done our own family birthday parties with balloons and picnic food.
Just like every open Garden, make sure you clean out all the trash.
Hope you will have a great birthday celebration.
Thank You,
Laila Johari
