A great Transportation Hub in the city. You can take Express Train or Bus to the Airport. Also MRT & LRT to connect you to various parts of the City.
Lots of Shops & Restaurants. And connected to NU Sentral Mall and 3 Hotels.

First up - the Tripadvisor owned photo is not of KL Sentral Railway Station - the Tripadvisor photo is of the "old" (but still used) Kuala Lumpur Station which is the next station stop North of Sentral. KL Sentral is a modern complex which provides a hub for some six (or more) railway (and Bus) lines - including the line to and from KLIA - the airport. The Station is very busy until around 9:00 pm when by that time many of the small service shops have closed. The best part of the Sentral Station (apart from rail and bus connections) is that it has some major hotels nearby, and has a large adjoining multi-storey shopping complex next door - we used it mainly for eating purposes. We stayed at the Majestic Hotel opposite the old Kuala Lumpur Station and using their free shuttle service we travelled down to Sentral for a cheaper and more varied selection of foods. There are many restaurants and take-aways scattered throughout the shopping complex. The adjoining shopping complex is air-conditioned and there are clean toilet facilities - most have a small fee but there are some away from the main thoroughfares which are free. Back at the Sentral Station, if you are using the KLIA Ekspres or KLIA Transit train to get to KLIA airport, there is a handy luggage check in facility for a range of airlines which allows you to drop your luggage off at the station and have it loaded on your flight - up to 8 hours before your flight time - you have to buy or have a train ticket to use it. Saves you having to avoid the airport rush and having to drag your luggage around with you. Check with your airline company but I believe the station check in is only available for Malaysia Airlines, Cathay Dragon, and Malindo Air. As a second last point, about 200 metres South East of Sentral is the Brickfields area which is an Asian Indian enclave and includes Indian Markets, restaurants, Temples and street food - well worth a look. Lastly, we had a lot of difficulty trying to find a Liquor Store - all we wanted was a bottle of whiskey to take back to our hotel room (because the drinks available at the hotels were far too expensive) - the Brickfields area was the ONLY place we found to buy bottles of liquor.

The modern railway station on several levels among skyscrapers can be reached by GoKL red line, metro and also monorail through the adjoining mall. New ETS trains depart for Butterworth/Penang and Arau/Langkawi several times daily with most economical prices for a journey of 4-6 hours. The Klia Express takes you fastest to the airport in 30 minutes without stops in between. The old Mughal style colonial railway station is one stop from KL Sentral and a bit misleadingly named Kuala Lumpur.

It was my first time travel to KL Malaysia and I didn't expect that they have this kind of terminal station that all train are connected in one main station. This is also the station where we dropped by aero bus from KLIAT2 because we are going to Hilton KL for our stay in KL and vice versa going to KLIAT2. This is the station where you can commute all way the to reach your destination around Kuala Lumpur.

Easy to find and easy to use but not as good as what you find in Europe for basic transportation. Just okay

We arrived at this station from the airport. It was not too difficult to find our way to the platform for our train to the hotel. During my stay I passed through this station several times and never found it a big issue finding my way around. For new travellers, I recommend getting a KL TravelPass at the airport (before you board the express train into KL) then you can easily travel around once in KL. Just be aware of which services are included for free and which you need to top up money for. You must use a specific top up machine (I can't recall which) for the TravelPass. There is a logo on the back of the card you need to look out for when looking for the correct top up machine to use.

This train station provides great access to multiple hotels and shopping malls, food courts etc. Very handy if the weather is bad, you have direct access to and from.

Arriving at the International Airport, then using the Fast train service to Sentral is easy.Ticketing counters for this direct train service to Sentral are easily available, once you leave Customs. The departure platform is within the Terminal, once you have your ticket,it is simply downstairs for the departure platform. It is all new and easy to follow, within reason.
Sentral Railway station is the hub for any rail/bus/taxi service within KL.From Sentral station there are trains and the monorail heading in any possible direction, and the routes are laid out in colour with your destinations. It is similar to any other major city anywhere else in the world and english is readily spoken.
In simple language, get to Sentral, then you can get anywhere.

We are visiting KL early next year and trying to avoid the lengthy drive into Kuala Lumpur we will have 2 large wheeled luggage’s, is it easy transferring from airport to the train.also is Sentral close to le Méridien. Are porters available to help with the luggage’s app.

Le Meridian is right next to KL Sentral, and taking the train from the airport to KL Sentral is very easy. Be sure to buy a round trip train ticket as it will save u a little money.
There are no porters to assist u at the airport, but if your luggage has rollers, it won't be a problem.
The hotel is about 300 meters from the train in KL Sentral, so it's an easy walk with suitcases. Alas, there are no porters til u reach the hotel.
Are there left luggage storage lockers at KL Sentral station?

how to travel from genting to kl and from kl to genting highland?
Sundaramurthy P
Chicago156 contributions
One can take a taxi (for one day visit on a contract RM250 to 300). This is good for a group of 3 or 4. If you are solo take a Genting Express bus from the ground level rear side of KL sentral. It costs less than RM5 one way. Cable car facility has to be used to g60o up the hill from the bus station at Genting. Week ends and holidays will be crowded and expensive on taxies. Of course, there are daily tour operators (from RM60 to 100). You will be picked up and drop from and at your hotel.
