Easy to find the Express train but keep looking for the signs up high as we walked straight past it. We were going to the Mandarin Oriental. Caught the express train to Sentral and then got a taxi outside. I would suggest ordering a Grab. I knew we got ripped off from the guy at the counter. R60 but a grab would’ve been R14.

There are two MRT lines to reach the station stopping above the concourse and the monorail which ends up in Nu Sentral mall next door. Klia Express to the airport operates underground from a different point than the ETS trains for Penang and even Thailand, their waiting area on ground floor is clearly visible. All trains and lines have separate ticket offices, the long distance ones near the entrance by the budget taxi counter.

We bought a KL travel pass for our return to KLIA on the day before our flight. This covered the KLIA Transit train (the Ekspress wasn't running) AND included two calender days use of LRT, MRT & Momorail. Made a great way to see and get around the city at the end of our trip.
NB staff on the rail ticket counters had no knowledge of it and on the KLIA Transit desk needed prompting, so you need to be persistent!

The main interchange / public transport hub here. Easy to navigate the train systems to get all around KL, and the trains arrive frequently.

Foreigners will need to get the single-trip token to commute; was told by the counter staff that there's no multi-trip card/token available. Note that the token machines only take small notes (up to 10 if I don't recall wrongly) and coins (all except the 5 cent coins).

Absolutely appalling and abhorrent service by belligerent and rude staff members in the booth who don't want to help any tourist can you sit on my backsides and do nothing except talk down to tourists.

The belligerent rude female I encountered didn't want to explain the tickets didn't want to give me change didn't want to help me with anything she was just a lazy incompetent belligerent person that should be terminated.

There is no Wi-Fi on the trains or at the stations and the stations are old and dirty and there is very little help for foreign tourists so I would not recommend using this you're better off getting a taxi

A great Transportation Hub in the city. You can take Express Train or Bus to the Airport. Also MRT & LRT to connect you to various parts of the City.
Lots of Shops & Restaurants. And connected to NU Sentral Mall and 3 Hotels.

First up - the Tripadvisor owned photo is not of KL Sentral Railway Station - the Tripadvisor photo is of the "old" (but still used) Kuala Lumpur Station which is the next station stop North of Sentral. KL Sentral is a modern complex which provides a hub for some six (or more) railway (and Bus) lines - including the line to and from KLIA - the airport. The Station is very busy until around 9:00 pm when by that time many of the small service shops have closed. The best part of the Sentral Station (apart from rail and bus connections) is that it has some major hotels nearby, and has a large adjoining multi-storey shopping complex next door - we used it mainly for eating purposes. We stayed at the Majestic Hotel opposite the old Kuala Lumpur Station and using their free shuttle service we travelled down to Sentral for a cheaper and more varied selection of foods. There are many restaurants and take-aways scattered throughout the shopping complex. The adjoining shopping complex is air-conditioned and there are clean toilet facilities - most have a small fee but there are some away from the main thoroughfares which are free. Back at the Sentral Station, if you are using the KLIA Ekspres or KLIA Transit train to get to KLIA airport, there is a handy luggage check in facility for a range of airlines which allows you to drop your luggage off at the station and have it loaded on your flight - up to 8 hours before your flight time - you have to buy or have a train ticket to use it. Saves you having to avoid the airport rush and having to drag your luggage around with you. Check with your airline company but I believe the station check in is only available for Malaysia Airlines, Cathay Dragon, and Malindo Air. As a second last point, about 200 metres South East of Sentral is the Brickfields area which is an Asian Indian enclave and includes Indian Markets, restaurants, Temples and street food - well worth a look. Lastly, we had a lot of difficulty trying to find a Liquor Store - all we wanted was a bottle of whiskey to take back to our hotel room (because the drinks available at the hotels were far too expensive) - the Brickfields area was the ONLY place we found to buy bottles of liquor.

The modern railway station on several levels among skyscrapers can be reached by GoKL red line, metro and also monorail through the adjoining mall. New ETS trains depart for Butterworth/Penang and Arau/Langkawi several times daily with most economical prices for a journey of 4-6 hours. The Klia Express takes you fastest to the airport in 30 minutes without stops in between. The old Mughal style colonial railway station is one stop from KL Sentral and a bit misleadingly named Kuala Lumpur.

It was my first time travel to KL Malaysia and I didn't expect that they have this kind of terminal station that all train are connected in one main station. This is also the station where we dropped by aero bus from KLIAT2 because we are going to Hilton KL for our stay in KL and vice versa going to KLIAT2. This is the station where you can commute all way the to reach your destination around Kuala Lumpur.
