One of the oldest mosque - Hukuru Miskiiy (Old Friday Mosque) is much smaller than the new one but is a fine example of Maldives history.

This place looks very old and sacred. But very strict in dress code. Ladies have to wear long dress with sleeves and cover their hair with the cloth like islamic/muslim ladies. Men have to wear trousers and elegant shirt, not shorts or t-shirt.

Built in 1658, it is one of the oldest mosque in Male. A small mosque built using corals with old wooden beams and looks awesome inside. There are some interesting tombs surrounding the mosque. Do dress appropriately (no shorts, singlets etc) when entering the mosque.
