popular market in the street.
The kind of place where you wander w/o looking for something special but where you can always find something to buy.

If you want really cheap stuff in Manila, you head to Divisoria.
It's basically a whole suburb of shops and market stalls that sell retail, but at wholesale prices.
It's where Sari Sari store and shop owners from all over the Philippines go to buy in bulk.
The Grab driver told us to be careful and on the lookout for pick pockets.
We had nothing in our pockets and wore our backpacks in front.
We saw all sorts of interesting people, and some were really friendly (as the photos will show).
Very diverse and interesting place for sure.
Trying to get a Grab (Grab is like Uber) out of Divisoria was a battle.
Took over an hour of waiting in the heat and trying to find a car to take our booking.
Eventually we got a ride, and i asked the driver why the GPS wasn't picking up any cars in the area.
He said the drivers don't want to go there because it's too dangerous.
Maybe so, but here were 2 Aussies traipsing round the place, and judging by the inquisitive stares from the locals, we must have been standing out to the max, and we were never bothered, nor felt threatened.
Stop and chat to the locals, show respect, and it will come back to you tenfold.
Never saw a single solitary tourist the whole 3 hours or so we were there.
It was magnificent !

I did some reading from trip advisor before going for the trip. Despite the pandemic the place is busy. Everybody is wearing masks. Yeah, I went to Taboora Street and indeed found a lot of shops selling bottles. It is worth visiting each to have price comparison.

Manila has MANY very impressive shopping malls - all air conditioned for hours of convneient browsing BUT for real bargains, nothing beats Divisoria. Or "Divi" as shopaholics call it.. You're going to need at least a full morning or full afternoon- to do it justice. Longer if you can. Go in a group to look out for each other. And go early in the morning for best buys. The store owners usually give good price breaks to he first customers of the day.

Divisoria, is indeed a shopping haven in Asia, precisely because, you can find all things that you have in mind, all wrap into one area. Nice clothes, footwear, souvenirs shops, food stalls (wet and dry), varieties of merchandise with big discount are being sold within the premises. Although, loud noise is everywhere😀 That’s to be expected since, lot of people from all walks of life gathered here, everyday!

Even though there was a lot of building works going on its a nice place to shop for clothes, especially prom dresses.
Busy crowded and hard to park but that's what you need to experience Manila.

This market and mall is amazing! There is so much to see. If you are looking to explore the real Manila and not just the high end malls this will do the trick. Vendors here sell anything you can imagine and all at very cheap prices. My only caution is that it is extremely congested. Don’t expect to manoeuvre a car here. Getting in and out is the challenge

Good luck finding anything much in here. Better off going to Greenhills Market ( just don’t buy the watches) better class of junk.

Yes you buy lots of clothes here with lots of choice .styles and fashion. Give yourself a good few hours to shop. A big tip is if you see something you like buy it there after bartering / negotiating the best price as you may not see it again as there are lots to see here and buy.
Where can I buy wooden chopping boards with bamboo design?

Yes you can buy many but please barter / negotiate a good price for yourself before buying. I find going very low at first and then moving up the price slowly works or even walking away then going back with a different offer also works.
If you do not like there price and negotiation do not go well look for it else where in the Divisioria very big market as you will find it for the price you like somewhere else in this market.
Is there a place where they sell kimonos?

I'd like to buy corporate shoes for women, block heels or anything, where can I find them?

Many of the shoes in Divisoria are made in China and I assume you want good quality. If you want cheap shoes, google corporate ladies shoes in Divisoria and you will find many suppliers.
If you want good quality shoes then google Marikina Ladies Shoe Stores.
Many Shoes from Marikina are world class

Once you arrive at NAIA/MNL, you will have to go to the San Lorenzo Roiz Plaza, a distance of about an hour or so, depending upon the route taken and the state of traffic. The Divisoria Market begins there. It is very crowded and chaotic. Take care of your wallet and belongings. Hard bargaining is necessary. But you can end up getting good deals. But I do not know whether you will get the fabrics you are looking for.
