This 12-mile long beach is also a National Park. Its proximity to the ruins keeps hotels from developing in the area, making it great for uncrowded swimming as well as bird watching.

Beautiful beach at the end of the road past the ruins of Patara. Ample parking, toilets and a reasonable beach restaurant.

Loved swimming here. The beach was beautiful. The cafe on the beach is not bad, we had burger and chips from there, it was not a bad price.

The first nine kilometres are a gentle walk. Accessing the other six requires “wading” across the fast-flowing river out of Xanthos. I have only been able to do this by swimming, and you need to be confident in the water (much colder than the sea)...More

We enjoyed our day here, it was relaxing and peaceful, despite being quite busy. The sun beds were comfy and total price to park and enjoy the beach was not expensive. We took a packed lunch so unsure if the cafe was pricey. There are...More

It is very long beach I have ever seen. Waves are really fun. It is clean. Not deep. You can go with your kids. There are facilities for shower and cloth change.

We visited this amazing beach twice whilst in Kalkan, the second time we took our own beach umbrellas and walked up a ay to find a more secluded spot which I would highly recommend. The central area by the cafe with the sunbeds and umbrellas...More

The beach is massive but still feels secluded as it is not overlooked by hotels, shops or businesses of any kind...just a beach bar. The sea is shallow for the first 100 metres ans the waves are huge. Just great fun standing waist deep in...More

One of the few sandy beaches in Turkey. Very long, good facilities (shower, bar, changing room, sunbeds, umbrellas). The water is not transparent though, typically there are waves due to strong winds from the Mediterranean. An experience to try, but for more complete impressions, I...More

A glorious bay backed by sand dunes. A small area is given over to umbrellas, beds and a cafe, but doesn't spoil the view as the beach is so vast you can easily escape to a quieter patch. The children (8 and 11) were thrilled...More

I would google airport transfer in Dalaman, Patara or Kalkan. They may offer shared transfers. We were quoted £75 for,a shuttle for 6people to Kalkan, so you might be able to find something that works for you online. Local... More
