I can't believe we only visited one place of Jordan Lake during the past 3 years. This year We were looking for long trails and new places to explore and we found it. New Hope Overlook includes long beautiful well maintained trails. You can be breathless almost all the 5.4 miles of walk. Now if you want a little more... More

We visited in the off season. In February, it is lovely, uncrowded and very pleasant. It is a large man made lake with numerous sites (we visited the dam and Ebeneezer Church) quite suitable for hiking, boating and fishing. Our purpose was hiking and we found numerous short primitive trails to our liking. Though the trails were primitive, they were... More

Jordan Lake is a beautiful man-made recreational lake home to much wildlife. Boating is available all year, with many boat ramps located around the lake. Some of these require fees to use, some are free. During the summer there are a few protected beach areas where swimmers can enjoy the water. Several areas around the lake have bathroom facilities and... More

Jordan is a big lake. there are several places for activities spread out in different places. Today I visited new Hope Overlook for a good 5 mile hike. The trail keeps you closer to the lake then at Falls but the area is not nearly as rugged as Falls lake. I then went to Ebenezer Church Beach and Picnic area.... More

We camped at the Crosswinds Campground during the Thanksgiving holiday and lived it. The campsites were large and private with hookups although they had turned the water off. Water was available at the bathhouses and at the dump station. We had nice views of the lake and saw 2 bald eagles perched in trees on the lakeshore very close to... More

There is so much to do at Jordan Lake. There are multiple parks and playgrounds, volleyball courts, picnic tables and campgrounds. The lake is massive, so there are often a lot of boats on the water, but the lake never feels overcrowded. There is also a rental facility where lake enthusiasts can rent kayaks, canoes, fishing gear, etc.

Jordan Lake is a great place for some outdoor play. There are several public areas that offer hiking trails, swimming (in the summer), picnic areas, and boat launch facilities. There is a small admission fee per vehicle: at the time of this writing, admission is $6.00 per car/$4.00 for seniors. There are several campgrounds at the lake. I believe reservations... More

All of the boat ramps are well maintained. One at the north end (Farrington Pt) is free. Most of the rest are about $6. There are several beaches and camping right on the lake so you could tie your boat up to the beach in front of your campsite. There is one marina with gas and bathroom facilities at the... More
