Our permanent home is now under construction, but you can still watch our carvers and painters at work in our temporary studio, and enjoy browsing our gift shop. We should be in our new home in June, 2017. Founded in 2004, the Historic Carousel and Museum is creating a world class carousel complex in downtown Albany that will draw visitors from around the world and contribute to the economic revitalization of historic downtown Albany.

The Albany Carousel has many hand carved and artfully painted animals. It is housed in a beautiful building in downtown Albany and a delight to children and adults alike. A nice gift shop is onsite as well. Worth the stop.

This is a unique and wonderful place. The building is vert well done, but the most impressive, are the animals that were carved and painted with volunteers. Great job Albany !!!

My daughter showed me the attraction before it opened. The craftsmen were still working on the antique animals and I was able to reminisce about the great carousels of a bygone era. A wonderful place to stop on a nice day out.

Beautiful animals on the carousel and interesting to watch the new ones being carved. All the happy children and adults were enjoying the venue. The volunteers were friendly and helpful too!

It was interesting to see the animals being carved and to watch and ride the carousel. I loved looking at the antique horses but wish they had more.
