This was once the gem of parks.....still has the oldest wooden rollercoaster in the world.....I applaud the county for hanging on to this place and it's memories.....hopefully the changes to be made will make this once again a gem for the city of Altoona.

This park used to be a wonderful family destination full of shade trees, wonderful food, and nature. Now it's a desolate skelton of what it used to be.

Please be advised that Lakemont park will be closed for the 2017 season for redevelopment. It is scheduled to reopen in November 2017 for the holiday lights. This is not a permanent closure. Thanks

This old amusement park used to be a real charm, but has sadly not been well-maintained. They do have a nice light show at Christmas time, put the kids in the car and drive through.

We swore that the park was closed when we arrived late in the afternoon. We parked in the lot and walked up thankfully to find an open ticket window where we purchased our wristbands for entry and all rides, except Leap-the-dips roller coaster (this requires...More

This is an old school, real amusement park. You can go to a state of the art park with all modern rides. But this park is not that. A fun place to bring the family for a fun night out. Don't knock this place because...More
