Visiting the son in Plano. Kiddo(my daughter) sons sister, once again insisted we do something different! I agreed. So off to the Cavanaugh Flight Museum. If your an aviation buff, this is a must visit museum. It was very hot that first week of August and not too many people there. It is so gratifying knowing these planes, heliocopters are... More

If you are an aviation fan (or not), this is a must visit if you are in Dallas. So many great planes to see and if available, you can pay for rides in various aircraft. The staff is always very friendly and available to answer questions about any of the aircraft.

This is a great place to take the children or grandchildren. If they are old enough you can begin to talk to them about the world wars. At some point they should have a basic understanding. The docents are excellent and provide an ongoing dialogue during the tour. If the kids are young they will have a wonderful time seeing... More

We absolutely loved the Flight Museum. Up close and personal with history is right down our alley. While we were there an older gentleman introduced himself as a Vet and told us some great stories. He gave my husband some pictures of Himself and his squadron. Priceless

Wonderful full sized, real war planes. Veterans of the aerial battles. Great place for older children who can see history come alive.

If you like vintage aircraft, or you're just looking for a relaxing museum visit, go take a look at the Cavanaugh Flight Museum. I appreciate the fact that this fellow, Cavanaugh, made his money as a franchisor and has invested a big chunk of it in this museum to preserve American history. Good for Jim Cavanaugh.

This is a nice, clean museum. My son and husband enjoyed all the planes in the hangars. I thought the timeline info near art exhibits inside was very well done. The staff was helpful and gave us some extra info about some of the planes.

While not actually in Dallas, this museum is easily accessible from the Metroplex area and offers a relatively good variety of aircraft spanning the history of aerial flight. Aircraft are both inside and outside and you don't have to know much before the visit, the displays are very informative.
