This is the story of the quarter horse. The lower level has a diagram showing the start of the quarter horse by sires. There is a rotating exhibit on the lower level and when we were there it was for the Charro cowboys and girls. Charro is the Mexican and South American cowboys. Displays were well thought out, interesting, and... More

Everything you every wanted to know about Quarter Horses and the old west. Wonderful museum and a place to spend some time as a break from traveling. It would be possible to spend a few hours if the time permits.

Beautiful building inside. Historical information, displays of racing and western riding items, donations have made this a nice national museum for us who are horse lovers, especially the quarter horse.

I am a cattle rancher near Amarillo that uses Quarter Horses in the daily operation of the ranch. I seldom have guest come to Amarillo that I don't take or send them to the AQHA museum and headquarters. It is a very update modern facility that is changed on a regular basis with new and different "stuff". If you are... More

Upon entering, you will be treated to a life-size bronze of the Dogwood Horse, a sculpture by famous western artist, Mehl Lawson. Inside the lofty rotunda, the floor is... More

They have a cool quarter horse hands on exhibition for kids. They can interact with lots of educational stuff. They also had an art exhibition for local teen artist which was inspiring & interesting.

There isn't really much interaction or deep information about quarter horses. Mostly filled with time lines and a memorial to those involved in the AQHA association. Would not recommend for children.

Grand halls filled with past statesmen and stateswomen memorabilia. Ostentatious buildings that are quite spectacular, but quite over the top. We love our Quarter Horses and this is remarkable.

This is a true tribute to quarter horses and the people throughout history that made them what they are today. Very classy.
