Well, it’s a monument. How much time can you spend looking at one? It’s unlikely you’ll find another monument to helium so might as well make a quick stop.

Pretty darn cool.A monument for Helium. The tubes are full of books and memorabilia to be opened in the future. It is on the hospital grounds, so check your directions.

This is a good place to visit. Great photo opportunities. This is right in front of the Discovery Center.

Was really interesting & different. We followed & went to most of the Route 66 acctractions. This was very different & interesting from the normal tourist traps.

Cool monument dedicated to helium. Time capsule underneath. Pouring when we stopped, unfortunately, but worth a look if you're heading to the science museum next-door with kids or you want to embrace your inner nerd a little.

Cool place you can spend 20 minutes at. There is some information on the history of the monument there as well.

Open 24/7, this cool sculpture celebrates the element's contribution to the economy of the area. It is a tall steel tripod with time capsules buried at each support. It is also a pretty accurate sundial. A steel replica of the element Helium is the center...More

This is a neat little spot to visit. It was built in 1968 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the discovery of helium. Amarillo was once known as the helium capital of the world. There are 4 time capsules located beneath it. One is opened...More

This was an interesting point of interest. The legs (columns) of the structure were filles with books and historic items to let people of the future see what it was like to live in 1968. It is basically a huge multi compartment Time Capsule.
